Those 14th place predictions weren't that far off.
This team has ZERO push!
Pespective. This is a team playing without half of its top 6 forwards and without it's starting goaltender, in a year that didn't have a training camp and worse, with a captain that traditionally only plays 60% of the season.
ryan lambert @twolinepass i dont think ive ever hated watching a team as much as i hate watching the calgary flames
ryan lambert @twolinepass the good news is the flames arent even last in their division haha just kidding they should be trying to finish last in the league
Strong game. They contained Minnesota's first line all game long and not every team has been able to do that. Irving was also very solid.
Hudler and Brodie were both impressive, but I think all defensemen played really well. Strong on the boards and getting the puck up quickly. I think it was a fairly positive game.
Not bothered by losing in a shootout. They had better shooters. Their first two both have over 40% in their long careers. It's all about the shooters - don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Flames top six forwards this year in no order are:
Cammy
Iginla
Tanguay
Cervenka
Hudler
Edit - Forgot that Glencross can occassionally be a top six guy. The Flames are missing a top six forward.
Stajan/Backlund/Stempniak
At best they are missing two of their top six, and the 2nd one is a borderline top six forward on this or any other team. Hopefully we are not that other Alberta team that counts on rookies to be top six forwards.....
