Although I guess Mike Smith is 215, Marty is 220, Luongo is 205 at least, so it's probably not a huge deal.

If he was 6' or even 6'1 perhaps, but at 6'5 that weight should be well distributed.

Right after they drafted him and I heard his draft interview with Kerr, I thought "wow, that guy has his head in the right place" ... and nothing ever since has made me think different about him. Just seems like a well-spoken, smart guy ... so his comments of taking the Brossoit trade as extra motivation don't really surprise me. The kid is a keeper.

Flames fans will awkwardly find themselves cheering only for Russians and Americans this year.

Before the pros were allowed in the Olympics, I would follow our amateur Team Canada based in Calgary. I went to a game between Canada and the USA. I wanted to see Pat LaFontaine for the USA and to watch a good game. I had no problem appreciating LaFontaine's game while still cheering for Canada. We won a hard fought game by one goal. I didn't feel awkward at all and I went home happy. I'm sure I'll be able to enjoy the World Juniors while cheering for Canada but keeping an eye on our American goalie and our Russian defenceman as well.

As a Flames fan, it's going to be difficult to not root for the US in this year's tournament.

Is Gillies for sure the #1 goalie for the US WJC team? Or will he be splitting the duties 50/50?

Gillies made 11 stops on 12 shots for Team USA in an exhibition game against Minnesota State tonight.
As was the plan he only played half the game.
