I know alltherage doesn't want them, so I'm not going to rip on him, but there's gotta be a happy medium here. Clearly your buddies want an excuse to go wild and do whatever. My best friend is kinda in the same place as you. He's single now, but was pretty serious with a girl and one day when I brought up the topic of a bachelor party he said he hates strippers and does not want a stag. My reaction - whatever...you're getting one anyway. That was probably only 2 years ago. Now after visiting a strip club in Niagara in January, I hate strip clubs. Just a bad experience of paying for dances isn't how I roll...and it just feels dirty, but anyway back on track. Long story short, either you, or your buddies are gonna end up pissed if both of ya'll are stubborn as hell. Say you get 10 guys out. Why not just hire 2 strippers to hang out with while some guys who want to hang out with them can, while the rest of you get boozed to the gills and play poker? I don't know, just hard to come up with something, but the key thing is not to go to a strip club on your party or they'll absolutely massacre you (which you don't want), and if you're hiring someone, hire at least 2, but not more than 3 for the load of you. If you really wanna have fun with it, after having the strippers over, 2 weeks later, you and your best man who organized it can say ya'll got contacted by the agency where they work stating they've got herpes. Keep it up for 2 weeks. Should make for a fun times.

So way back when my buddy and I were looking into getting a stripper for a stag, and we went to see this sketchy dude to look at the girls he had available (pre-internet in the 80s) in an album of pictures. So we're looking through, and being young and obnoxious, every girl is "too fat" or "too skinny" or "too skanky" or "not skanky enough", and the guy is getting desperate, so he reaches down into his desk drawer and pulls out a single 8 X 10, and puts it face down in front of him and gives us the spiel:

"Ok boys, I can see you won't be satisfied with any of my regular girls, so I'm going to make you an offer - you can hire THIS girl and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. But it'll cost you extra, 'cause she's special - not only beautiful, but different and classier in a way these other girls aren't."

So of course we're all excited and we're wondering - does she have a third nipple? Or maybe she's so flexible she can take off her clothes without using her hands? Or maybe this ###### has misread us and we're about to find out she's a ladyboy?

Well, he looks at us, and we say, "Ok, we're interested - flip it over and tell us." And he does so with what he imagines is unbelievable panache, and says,

"She's SHAVED!!!"

We look at each other, and start laughing and laughing. He must have thought we were yokels just in from Saskatchewan who'd be amazed at the concept of a woman cleaning up around her junk, but even in the 80s that wasn't exactly the stuff of legend. From then on, if we were talking about a girl we thought was really hot, the inevitable question would be, "I dunno though man - you think she's SHAVED?!?!?"

I dont hate or love strippers. Ill go for fun, but i wont throw loonies (which is completely a western canadian thing by the way). Ill get a lap dance if the chick is especially hot, but most of the time i wont bother because i have girlfriends who would give out lapdances for free anyways.

Back to my point, I will never deprive my friends and my dad of having a stripper at my stag party. I dont care what anyone says the stag is as much for your groomsmen as it is for the groom. If only as a way for you friends to show you how much they truly care for you and how proud (or dissapointed) they are, that you are getting married.

I find it a bit odd that your best buddies (reasonable assumption since they're your groomsmen) are so hardcore into strippers and you're not.
I mean, I've got a few friends that really like the peelers, but me and my closest friends would really only go to a peeler joint if one of our satellite friends insisted. Ditto casinos and movies. Birds of a feather and so on.

I think its dependant upon a certain amount of alchohol in said buddies systems.

There definately is a happy medium.

For one of my buddies stags, we had two strippers come golfing with us. Of course when we were teeing off and close to the clubhouse among thge non-stagging public, they were properly dressed and acting normal.

By Hole 2, they were topless and were being chauffeured around to all the 4-somes in the stag, being picked up and dropped off every couple holes. It was great. Nothing too scandalous. Just some innocent flirting and flesh being exposed.

Tough to hit a good drive with wicked scenery a few feet away from you laying on the tee box, if you know what I'm sayin!

This might work out for you, as you get your "no strippers" but there is still some T&A.

I should note that one of the groomsmen's family owned the course so there was a bit of leeway with us and they rigged the scheduling so that our run-ins with the paying public were minimal.

However if you find the right course and be semi-discreet, you could easily pull it off.

Good luck!

Some of you might need that to get your jollies. Personally, I don't like it, need it, or want it. It's probably something that just goes over your perved up head. I'm not saying you're wrong, i don't give a crap what other people do.

What if the strippers name is "all the rage"? Would that make you feel less, uncomfortable?

Just done 3 bachelor parties over the past 3 weekends, a bit much I know.

All i want to say is it isn't the strippers that make it fun it is you with your buddies that make it fun.

Out of all 3 stags we went to the strippers for every one and had a blast doing it every time. The girls were all fun and the establishments treated us very well. Some girls danced others socialized it was all good. Really no different than going out to just about any dance club out there, maybe a little more clothing is all...

But really, it is not a stag until you are doing blow off of a peelers [mode edit- that's over the line]. Now that's a party!

My stag started with golf in the morning and than on to play hockey, half my team was at the stag. After a very poorly played game we headed upstairs for food and drinks and than onto the peelers. I must admit I had a blast. It was fun to watch the girls and it was fun to watch my buddies interact with the girls.

Ok, this is really coming out of nowhere. I would appreciate it if the two of you just crammed it. I didn't instigate this little flame-war but I am sick of it now.

A man who had a freshly shaved snatch in his face would be able to see the humour in this situation.

Ok guys- this is a case of the OP looking for advice and suggestions. Some of these posts are crossing "the line", so let's keep things PG-13; and if you have already offered suggestions and they have been dismissed, there is no need to offer insults just because your suggestion was not accepted.

Yes, ATR, didn't you know the groomsmen just want naked women around to show YOU how much they truly care about you and your wedding.

The bachelor party is for the groom's buddies! Contrary to popular belief as stated here.

The groom will play a roll... but his roll will be limited to trying not to making an idiot of himself.

The groom doesn't pay for the party, he doesn't get involved in planing the party.... his buddies do. The party is for the buddies to say farewell to their single friend.... and get drunk, watch naked women, smoke cigars, and play poker while doing so.

Loosen up ok? Let your buddies have a little fun. A naked woman really isn't as disgusting as you seem to think it is.

Fair enough. For the record, even though I said it's "disgusting", i didn't really mean that I guess. It just makes me uncomfortable, but I think I can get over it so we can all have a good time. I guess the underlying issue is that they really don't care what I want for it, but after reading lots of posts on here, I think the party is for all of us, and I only make up 1 person out of 20+ people.

I think I can dig it. I don't want to be so stubborn that it ruins the party. I'll just get really smashed before hand so that I won't feel awkward.

Well I'm glad you're the authority on the subject. I guess I look at like this. If it wasn't for the groom their would be no party. It is celebrating the grooms 'last night of freedom'. Like how the wedding reception is celebrating the start of the couples lives together. If the groom just 'plays a roll' in Stag, why bother having a stag? If atr's buddies want to have a party solely for them they can hit up the French Maid sans an officially sanctioned wedding related event. To me it just seems that his buddies want to see the peelers but aren't the type to normally go, hence they pressure on having them at the Stag. If the party has little to nothing to do for the groom, as he doesn't pay or plan etc, why is he even there? It is atr's night.

/end rant
