Toffolli has been great. Some fans just hate slow players I think. He is getting tons of chances and is one guy who can finish. Always in the right spot too. He just isn't flashy.

I wonder if there’s any way Lucic would waive to finish a half season in SJ - a place vets love to go.
Meier as a rental doesn’t bother me, and he’d also like it and produce a lot because he’d be a UFA one year earlier (though SJ maybe makes him one also).
SJ probably looks at the Tkachuk trade and wants something similar, though obviously Tkachuk’s a tier higher.

If anyone watched those games vs San Jose I have no idea how they could want Karlsson.
He plays for both teams most nights.

He has that problem where he makes what he does look easy, and effortless. Sort of looks like he isn’t working for it. I always felt like Jay Bouwmeester had the same “problem” from a fan viewership perspective. They get dismissed as not playing hard enough, despite performing as expected.

Nevermind he is 3M a year less in cap hit.
Strange comment.

I am not sure what these fans are seeing
hallucinations?
7 points in his last 4, just set up andersson for the winner, and looks dangerous around the net. maybe the only forward on the team that's been that in the o-zone all season
and when they were not scoring he showed the most frustration (because he was trying)

I think for a lot of fans, watching their own team every night, they see the mistakes and the short-comings, but for other players, they mostly see only highlights.
Watching Tarasenko every night would blow their minds - his short-comings are far worse than Toffoli's.
$3M more, for less production, and too much indifferent play.

Okay, but I didn't say Toffoli is not good player. I'm my opinion if we go with Toffoli our first line RW I see he will be weaker when the games are much faster and harder.
I waited from him more during the playoffs.
So if we change him with Tarasenko, the overall production will not fall, and Blues may accept trade purpose. Otherwise we don't have trade chip may be excep Coronato.

I think the team gains far more, simply by adding Coronato to it, than it does by trading Toffoli for Tarasenko, which, not only hurts our cap, but also costs us Coronato, according to your proposal.
It's a bad proposal that weakens the team.

How would Patty Kane look with Huberdeau and Kadri?

Still have the belief Coronato will have hesitations of signing with us.
But he is more valuable to the team on the ice than a trade package.
Honestly think he is the missing piece. Right shot right wing with great skating and a high motor. Him and Dube on opposite sides would be a fun line.

Tarasenko is FA. And I fear Coronato will not sign with the team. So next year we have some cap space when Tarasenko and Toffoli and Lucic gone and Pelletier or Zary is in the line up.

I thought Toffoli had a lot of chances during the playoffs and just didn't finish.
But I think that affected people's impressions of him. The bottom line is he's doing exactly what his role is...producing offensively. And he's a guy that is pretty solid from a two-way POV.
I just don't think Taranseko is an upgrade at all.
But your observations were challenged because you said he "isn't connecting with other players well". The stats strongly show otherwise.

Coronato may well be ready by the end of this year, and you have to think that he and his camp think so.
But for him to not want to sign with the team (a team that is woefully short of RWs, BTW), he would not only be foregoing the chance to burn a year of his ELC this year, but would also have to wait 2 more full seasons, and not enter the NHL until Oct 2025.
If he were to sign at the end of this year, he would have his entire ELC burnt before he could even start his NHL career elsewhere.
Paranoid fans are wat off the mark here.
