Yankees made their tiebreaker choice and in the event of a 4 way tie, they got to choose between going to Fenway to play the Sox or coming to Rogers Center to play the Jays.
They chose the Sox!

Honourable mention to another loss to the Tigers when the Tigers hit an inside the park homerun to go ahead in the 8th.
90 minutes until the chaos begins.
Lets go Jays!

This day is so unique and crazy, may never happen again.
I’m kinda hoping for a 4 way tie

Ugh, yeah that one too. The Jays had just acquired Dyson but he wasn't with the team yet IIRC, and Palacios was out in CF and made a total bone headed rookie mistake.
So many things you can point at as to why the Jays are in this spot right now.
Going a combined 7-6 vs. the Twins and Tigers is yet another one, especially since all those games were later in the season too.

Sucks that we have to rely on random Nats garbage vs Sale and Wacha starting for the Rays.

For one of the tiebreak scenarios, Jays were given a choice between playing 2 home games, or 1 road game.
They chose the 1 road game

Interesting. That road game could end up way out in Seattle.

For the tiebreaker, all the contending teams were asked in advance? Interesting.

Yeah, I’m sure flights/hotels all need to be arranged ahead of time and there is zero turnaround time on this.
There’s a scenario where Jays play in 4 cities in 4 nights

there is not enough difference between the teams to handicap a one-game playoff, it all comes down to who gets the better pitching and who gets clutch hits

maybe
but maybe they are a 105 win team because the NL is a junk pile with only 3 or 4 real teams (it's likely some of both)
Put those teams in the AL east and then we'll see how many games they win

I don't think there is any question that you take one road game over two home games.
What are the chances of winning one road game? A little under 50/50
What are the chances of winning both home games? A little better than 25%

I guess I’d prefer to avoid the Yankees if possible as Cole will be the tiebreaker starter (most likely)
Those other teams don’t have a starter that scares me

And even then the Jays have hit Cole hard the last 2 times they faced him.
I think the more Tiebreaking games /scenarios that play out favours the Jays as they have more starting pitching depth. If the Yanks have to burn Cole in a tiebreaker than they really dont have anyone else that scares me for a wildcard game. Same with the Sox. They're using Sale today so if they can burn Eovaldi in a tiebreaker it gets pretty thin for them.
This is just so wild to try and wrap my head around all the possibilities.
The one game that I would like to avoid is the Jays travelling to Seattle for a tiebreaker. A west coast game in a pitchers field against a team that played the Jays very well. *shudder*
Whatever comes of today, I really just don't want the Sox and Yanks both winning and negating any of the fun that could be had.

In the last couple of years, has anyone else's interest between the Flames and the Jays totally flip flopped?
I probably watched 150+ games this season and really couldn't care less about the Flames after the last two season's of disappointment.
I'm super pumped for the Jays future but have little of the same for the C's.
