If he can be had for cheap, Simmonds can have that 4th line LW spot that seems to shuffle between the AHL call-ups. I imagine he'd be a better option than Mangiapane, Dube or Quine.

How many regulars (top 12 forwards) does the average team lose to injury going deep into the playoffs? (3-4 rounds)

I don't think there is a stat for that, but by my eye test I think teams need 3 extra players who can play at least 7-10 min a game - a couple of D-men and one forward.
WSH used 7 D-men last year. PIT used 10 the year before that.

No, and I replied to your PM.
Huskys response didn’t indicate displacing Monahan. It meant he perceived Brodie to be worth more than a “strong 2c”.

Then I guess there isn't any debate because we could be talking about a totally different calibre of player. Do you prefer 1b? Semantics.

Fun fact about over the hill Simmonds:
He has 15 goals.
Prime addition ferland has 13.
Weird.

He’s no where near as bad as some portray him in here.

So who cares if Simmonds has more goals than ferly, he has an excuse...he gets injured a lot and has concussion issues and can't play the same style as Simmonds....hes still a better option though right?

I think its more people think the acquisition price will be too high for him.

Ferland also has more points in less games and will likely cost less

If we're talking Simmonds vs. Ferland, I'm not so sure Ferland would cost less.
I'm also not sure if Ferland is worth the asking price for a rental, just like Simmonds.

All these speculated prices and no ones asked what Trelivings price for these players. You can cut most of the speculated acquisition costs by 20% of your preferred expectations.
He isn't going to pay what the GP think these players are worth.

Each will cost a 1st plus.
Many teams will bid on them.

Foolish to entertain the idea of dealing a 1st without team control. This group has played so well that you give them the reigns. I was a big player on Schenn will h control and extension but now Backlund is showing some life. Penalty Kill is strong and youthful. Honestly I would let Peluso play a couple games here and there and have him ready as the size. Don't sell this team low with the idea of buying high.

Probably sounding like a broken record here, but I really don't think we need any additions in the top 6.
We could use a grey beard with playoff experience. I think Kronwall is the guy, but I wonder if there are any others out there with age, playoff experience, and who can still play at a high level. There don't seem to be many around these days.

That's what Neal is supposed to be, we don't need any more over the hill veterans taking spots away from younger guys who could benefit from playoff experience
