Even with those, I don’t recall ever having a negative experience with a paper straw. I am also like a fairly normal person that doesn’t nurse a fountain pop for 3 hours or bite the end of it like I am Drake.

Speaking of wines and spirits, do the guys with beards and moustaches just avoid drinking anything like that, or do they dive into it with a straw like nobody’s watching? Could there be anything more publicly embarrassing than being on a patio and drinking beer with a straw?

If you keep your beard and moustache trimmed it's a non issue. If you let it grow like a caveman you probably don't care anyway.

I got audited this year. It was a pain filling in and uploading evidence using file names their stupid user unfriendly system would accept.

Yeah, I’m not part of any anti-straw movement. I’m pro-straw. Slurpees? Milkshakes? Fountain pop? Straw all the way.
But I know zero adults in day-to-day life who have had a paper straw fail. Kids? Sure, I’ve seen kids take a paper straw and make it look like they were attempting paper mache. But adult paper straw struggles are an exclusively online thing to me. It’s fascinating.
Some paper straws do have a really unappealing texture, though.

Considering biodegradable straws that look and feel identical to plastic straws are already being used by a large number of restaurants maybe a more practical solution for those who hate paper straws would be to stop giving the businesses that use them their money until they change their straws.

Just picked a Bota Box up this morning(PC Liquor has it one sale)! I wish more boxed wine was better quality, most of it is trash. There are a few good ones around, like Bota red. Radio something or other is a good Spanish one too.

I misinterpreted a question about “product disposal” on this warranty claim form from Marmot as meaning, what should *I* do with the product, not what do I want them to do with the product. It was like either “return the items” or “responsibly dispose of the items”. So after I got acknowledgment of the claim, I just disposed of the rain jacket, thinking they’ll just send me a credit or a new coat. A month later, they send me an email asking me to send a few more pictures of the jacket before they could decide what to do next.
I equally blame myself for hastily getting rid of things, but also the wording of the question (which to be fair, did have a link next to it that clarified the question, though it seemed to make sense at the time so I didn’t think to click on it).

I had a cookie dough milkshake from Sonic, and it was simply impossible to use the paper straw.
Luckily this Sonic location eventually switch to plastic straws, at least for milkshakes.
Even plastic straws often don't work well for milkshakes if they're too thin and flimsy.

You’re here day-to-day, so now you know at least one: me. Paper straws in slurpees become borderline useless about half-way through the drink. I’m trying to enjoy it, not power through it. 7-Eleven’s biodegradable straws, that’s where it’s at. They should standardize on those over those sh-tty paper straws.

I haven't even noticed the shift to paper straws. I never get pop when eating fast food so I guess I just don't drink the style of beverages that require a straw as it's usually just water and coffee if non-alcoholic. I can't remember the last time I had a milkshake. It's not that I don't like them but I just don't crave them or ice cream in general.

My wife cannot stand paper straws so we bought some silicon straws off of amazon. They included a bag to keep them in and a tool to clean them. I haven't tried with a milkshake or a slurpee but they are wider than the average straw so I would assume they would work fine.

They have the same problem as the paper straws, they're too flexible that you can't use them to stir, which makes them useless for slushy drinks or milkshakes. It's like trying to stir with a wet noodle.
