I'm so sick of the goddamn Mariners. Screw off already you bunch of phonies. Luck sack team manages to win 90 games with a -50 run differential. Ridiculous
To me I'm a little indifferent about Seattle. But when you think about it a bit more, I fear them much less than NY or BOS in a tie breaker. Tomorrow is going to be awesome.
So what’s the breakdown for tomorrow? Win and one of Yankees or red socks lose and have a shot? Want to know if it’s worth changing one of my 4 screens from football to baseball.

Jays Win + Mariners Win + Yankees Loss + Red Sox Loss = 4 way tie
Jays Win + Marines loss + Yankees Loss + Red Sox Loss = 3 way tie (TOR, NY, BOS)
Jays Loss + Mariners Win + Yankees Loss + Red Sox Loss = 3 way tie (SEA, NY, BOS)
Yankees win or Red Sox win = Jays and Mariners out.

Yeah, exactly. Here’s a breakdown as I understand
Jays lose: they’re done
Jays win, Yankees win, Sox win, Mariners win - we miss
Jays win, Yankees win, Sox win, Mariners lose- we miss
Jays win, Yankees win, Sox lose, Mariners win - 3 way tie for 2nd wildcard
Jays win, Yankees win, Sox lose, Mariners lose - 2 way tie for 2nd wildcard
Jays win, Yankees lose, Sox win, Mariners win - 3 way tie for 2nd wilcard
Jays win, Yankees lose, Sox win, Mariners lose - 2 way tie for 2nd wildcard
Jays win, Yankees lose, Sox lose, Mariners win - 4 way tie for both wild cards
Jays win, Yankees lose, Sox lose, Mariners lose. - 3 way tie for both wild cards
I could be wrong this is very confusing

Basically a three way tie is even more "team chaos" than a four way tie.

The craziest scenario would be Boston, Toronto, and Seattle winning and the Yankees losing creating a three way tie for the 2nd wildcard.
Toronto holds the tiebreaker over New York and Seatlle so they have a decision to make. Would they choose to play two games at home? Or let Seattle and New York play first then play the winner on the road?

Honestly though, I am not all that optimistic with Ryu pitching today. He's had a very rough few months. Hopefully he's got it going today, and Montoyo is ready with a quick hook if he struggles.

Almost certainly he will be. I thought Ray, but it'll likely be Berrios getting the nod. The good thing is it's against Baltimore and the Jays are nailing the pitching. I have little doubt that the Jays will win. The real question is if NY or BOS can lose. It's to Tampa's advantage to do everything they can to hand NY the loss to tire them out, so we'll see what Tampa does to make it happen. I also suspect NY will pull every pitcher out to keep Tampa bats at bay. That's going to be a really interesting game to watch.
While the AL.wildcard is a big focus, and a shame if the statically superior and play in an infinitely superior division Jays don't get in over the Mariners, the fact that a 105 or 106 win team in the Giants or Dodgers have to play a coin flip play in game is worse.
