Roy Halladay is perfect through 7 innings, and has 9 strikeouts thus far in the Phillies - Marlins game, and the Phillies lead 1-0. He's thrown 92 pitches, so with 2 innings to go...this could be a real possibility.
Perfect. ROY is perfect today. Thanks for the memories Doc! I'll pull for you to win a couple titles till he retires.
I was @drunkjays fans and the youtube clip of Roy's 9th inning gave me shivers. I remember his first start for the jays when he nearly pitched a no no. His bid was spoiled by some schlub in the 9th who hit a dinger off Roy. Still a great game and memory that has seen his development come full circle.

My lord the AL east is the toughest division in baseball by a freaking mile. Jays couldn't afford to lose a single game this weekend and they didn't.
Now comes the test to see if this team can compete, this next week and a half. Lucky for them they don't have annoying TSN 2 commercials setting them up for failure ala the showdown in Beantown last year.
What a great month for current and former jays. If this doesn't generate some good karma for north of the 49th with those good ol' boys in the commissioners office then I don't know what will. Bautista is mashing. Romero looks great in a bounce back effort. Imagine if Hill and Lind get real hot in this line up? I like what Flew is doing for this line up with his speed and aggressive base running.
These next 33 games are going to be tough on the jays' young staff who has shown weakness vs. better hitting lineups, as the games will all be against above .500 teams.
They're on pace for 92 wins! As much as I've thoroughly enjoyed watching the Jays smacking the other teams until this point, I'm actually pretty scared that the party ends here when they're playing their own division. Cito's gotta keep the guys loose, or they could go on a pretty bad slide if they lose 3 or 4.

Yankees and Rays have not been good recently. Perhaps it's a good time to get them. I expect 4 out of 6 wins.

I will say this, at the start of the season when the Jays were playing well I thought it was just a huge fluke and would run out soon but part of me actually believes that if the Jays could get out of the next 9 games with an over .500 record that the playoffs could be an actual thought

I don't love the track record though. If there's anytime to prove to the watching baseball world it's these next nine. The pitching the rays are throwing at the jays gives all of the jays' hitters troubles: Garza, Niemann, Price... These three all boast good careers against the jays. It seems like this could get ugly if these opposing hitters take advantage of the back end of the jays' rotation.
I'll be watching or keeping pace...

Yup fun times! I've always found Garza sparatic, hopefully the Jays can get to him tonight. Niemann and Price are tough although Price got torched by the lowly White Sox on Friday. Too bad it isn't Davis and Shields cause they suck. Despite Tampa being first overall, they don't impress me, they're coming back down to earth after a torrid start. You put the two lineups together and the Jays are far superior right now 1-9.
Tampa 5-9 are Jaso, Aybar, BJ Upton, Brignac, S.Rodriquez. Who are these guys? And at 4 Pena is struggling too. Keep Crawford off the basepads and the Jays should be fine.

Really enjoying watching the Jays this season so far, we're almost at the 1/3 point in the season. Marcum, Romero and Cecil have been good.
Bautista has been a nice surprise and it's shocking to see Lind and Hill as the two guys struggling most in the lineup.
If they can get through this stretch without running into disaster, this has potential to be a magical season.
Yeah, I feel a couple other guys have been good: Gregg, FLewis, Snider.
Yet, I also agree with the surprise of Lind and Hill's struggles.

The highlighted areas are what I contend. The white sox, with their moribund offensive start are still a decent team that gave us fits. When their offense clicks, their pitching carries them quite far. They have a good BP, rotation and Rios is playing like a man on fire there
Tampa's 5-9 are quite interesting if you know about their prospect profiles. Jaso is a very good prospect from a very deep farm system. Aybar is talented, not 300 talented but talented. Upton is enigmatic, with surprising speed and power. Brignac was too ballyhooed a prospect to give up for halladay. They offered Wade davis but no brignac. He's going to be a stud. Rodriguez is another guy with upside at C. They all come from a deep system. So, really, I;m wary of similar trend with what happened last series, 8 runs in one inning. The jays have to be ready. And GArza although sporadic, seems to get it together against the good guys.

But they're still prospects, nothing to be scared of yet.
Blue Jays 5-9 are Bautista, Gonzalez, Overbay, Buck, Encarnacion who are all on fire. Sure they can and will cool down but I'd take them over prospects right now. Only thing that really scares me about the Rays are their speed. Can steal 5+ bases in a game and drive you crazy.
