The one thing that bothers me sometimes is the pass back to the point on a 5 on 5 situation, the lack of pinching in by the D etc.
Cross crease or cross slot, always works for me, because I only do it when it's there, can't force it anymore which I like

I don't mind that they take away the cross crease passes. The one that really bugs me is when I cross into the slot and try to drop a pass to the guy coming in behind me. The AI usually sends it all the way back to a guy on the point. Like I said, I can usually make these work when I turn off the assisted passing, but then making a hard pass become stupidly difficult because you have to hold the button for so damn long.
Also, I can't stand it when I'm sitting behind the net with the puck and my AI players are just standing around instead of battling to get in position for a pass. That's not realistic at all.

if you want to do a drop pass, hold R1 and press back on the left stick.

My issue is that the game always thinks you want to cross crease pass, some of the time ill be beside the net, there wont be any player on the other side, then the D floats into the slot for a perfect shot, and i aim at him and it gives some phantom player cross crease crap that was not needed.
the game has some predetermined passing lanes that they assume people always want to make, when you just want to pass it to an open player instead

Turn your pass assist down, and it will go where you point it to.

Does anybody have a compiled Glitch list set up for Be a GM mode? I'm really pissed at the game through all the freezes/lock ups I have (That even affect my backup save files). Here's what I have:
- Don't scout near playoff time. Recall the guy, do whatever. It really screws up the game next season.
- NEVER save with the AHL calandar open. You'll never get back to your NHL calandar.
- Never quit a game. It (for me) marks the save files and won't let you use your Trade functions (Block, Players, Rumours) and Roster Movement again.
Any others?

360.
First two are pretty standard from what I've heard...but I haven't met anybody who's seen the 3rd yet.

Any idea how to get the goalie to leave the puck where it is (IE if he has it behind the net)? All I can do is pass or shoot.

That might work. Except it takes forever to turn the goalie towards the boards.
I've seen the AI just leave it where it is and skate back to the net. Would love to figure out how.

I try to use this sometimes, for example right side of crease
turn right 180 degrees, aim pass to directly behind the net so it hits the boards then bounces back and hits rear of net, then either side D man or forward can circle around and grab the puck and keep going
but yes I know what you mean for time to turn around, one poster posted a drop pass was R1 bumper and left stick down, try that maybe?

Scored a strange goal last night. Playing as Canada against Russia and Pronger gets called for interference, Nabokov heads to the bench and they pour on the pressure with the extra man. Puck pops up in the air out front and Pronger bats it down the ice and into the empty net. I guess the mid-air bats don't trigger possession so the whistle never blew and I wound up with a goal and a penalty on the same play.

Yup, me too. I've also checked someone and when the puck came off their stick it went into the net. Not that the whistle should have gone it was just cool.

Wow, I just played NHL9 again because I had gotten rid of NHL10 and I was jonesing for hockey. Man, does NHL09 suck compared to 10. Slow, and clunky. I hope NHL11 is an even better step up from 10.

Does it automaticaly save to your online roster file? Because I click yes to saving the new roster update, but the next time I turn the system on it asks again.

The one thing I think they could improve on is the manual deeking. Or just have a tutorial for me to use so I suck less at it.

If you want to get good at dekeing and have some free time, take a couple hours to practice it. Pick a left handed and right handed skater in 2-0 practice mode and just practice making the dekes fast and finding the weaknesses of AI goaltending.
