Anyone have the xm sat radio app? I've downloaded it and am ona free 14 day trial. I hear that when the trial ends I'll have to pay 10 bucks over and above my xm subscription to get xm on my iPhone. Is this true? If true I wonder if I should get a Sirius subscription instead as then isn't the iPhone use free? I believe that the two companies are separate here in Canada and that the content is much the same.

I have the Sirius app and it's free with my regular sub and the content is the same except a few minor things.

Has anyone found an app that works like a hi/low beam headlight switch for the backlight? I'm so tired of going into the settings and dialing down the backlight brightness at night if I want to use the iPod in bed, and then having to go back in to raise it during the day.
What I want is an app I can tap once to go to some pre-set high backlight level, and tap a second time to switch to a low intensity nighttime level.
I tried searching the app store but can't find anything like this.
It's really too bad that the backlight auto-adjust is so terrible on the device. The macbooks do such a nice job of adjusting their backlight level across the full brightness spectrum..
EDIT: Nevermind.....idiotic Apple only exposes backlight API's as private functions, which means no app can manipulate the backlight and be sold in the AppStore. @#$&*^@#$@#

The new goggles also do nothing.

Yeah, a backlight toggle would be cool, as would a 3G/Edge toggle as well as a WiFi toggle.

Isn't that odd? I downloaded it last night. I thought it was interesting that it doesn't just detect the other phone automatically ... you have to actually move both phones.
For those that are unfamiliar, you and a second party both turn the app on, you "bump" phones together and it swaps your contact info and loads it into your address book automatically. It's actually pretty cool, plus it opens up a world of jokes about "bumping" people.

I sort of thought so, but I have never played it so I wasn't sure. Thanks.

I'm not sure if anyone else uses Skype on their phones but I'm really impressed by it. I've had several free long distance phone calls with other skype users now and each one has worked great. The audio quality has almost been as good as a regular phone call.

I found the delay to be enough not to use it, even on wifi. How's the delay been for you?

Big Buck Hunter Pro is pretty good as it is very similar to the arcade version. It is pretty easy though. The Deer Hunting one sucks.

Almost non-existent. I'm using a 3GS phone, so would that be enough of a difference?

Have you checked out WhatsApp? I like it much better than Ping.
(There's a rumour that iChat will be coming with OS 4.0. This will all probably be moot if that happens.)

That would be outstanding. Any word of a time frame for 4.0?

No timeframe as of yet. The only real evidence is a screenshot of a boygeniusreport.com web server's logs, which show that a handful of devices running iPhone OS 4.0 (with webkit 4.0.3) have surfed their website. There's also an entry for 3.1.3, which should be coming out fairly soon.
As for the iChat thing, it's just a word-of-mouth rumour that can be taken with a grain of salt... but I can see it happening. It's really the only thing still missing.
