I've only heard of about 3 bands listed on the last 3 pages.
You would think that "indie" music was modern day "pop" music from all the people that allegedly listen to it.
You are missing it....This thread is a great source for cd releases that us prospectors may be interested in. Not to say that people shouldn't post Nickelbacks next release but we will all hear about it regardless. Gold isn't always easily found even though the certified gold that you listen to is....Fatso has great taste in music and I would check out what he is recommending here but you will have to give up the breast-feeding on your radio. It is no different then comparing a O-pee chee Brett Hull rookie card and a Jaromir Jagr Pro-set rookie card.....it isn't that easy...back OT : really liking these guys lately : http://www.myspace.com/freelancewhales not to mention http://www.myspace.com/brokenbells and http://www.myspace.com/chapelclub /rant

Don't mind the Chapel Club at all, good stuff. And I agree with what you say, lots of people have different tastes and might know of relatively unknown bands that others might dig. It's like a virtual record store inspired from the ones way back in the day. Digging Broken Bells as well dude!! "To each his own"

Haven't minded Broken Bells, I do like his Shins stuff better but I caught the one track at the end of a "how to make it in america" episode, recognized his voice and dug it up and haven't minded the album.
Also I got the new Gorillaz, wow is that album all over the map. My fiancee thought I had my ipod on shuffle when I had it on last night.
Our album was released on Independence day in 08. We built the album with our own funds and designed the album artwork & website design on our own as well. The help we did use was primarily from local establishments. If you haven't heard about it already on here than you can goto our website and download the album free. Currently writing more material and looking forward to our next studio projects, will keep you all posted on any new material we come up with as we go.
I listened to Bush Fire (you posted it when we scored), and thought it was a pretty cool song. As a hard-core metal head, I approve.
I plan on setting up a record label in the next 5-8 years so if your still unsigned, I'd sign you.
Hey right on Justin, really appreciate the feedback and I'm glad you dig Bushfire!! Always looking for new opportunities...including ones 5-8 years from now
“Welcome Home,” the debut video off MGMT’s second album, Congratulations (out Tuesday), is a trippy portrait vividly illustrating the band’s trademark synthesized-rock psychadelia. MGMT’s parade of absurdity mirrors its ironic lyrics and playful instrumentals. It’s kind of like a Halloween-themed family reunion at the Pentagon, complete with Hillary Clinton helmet-hair, eye patches and old people doing the Electric Slide. The track itself is so dance-worthy, it makes you want to join them.

If you're coming to the second MGMT album because you loved "Time to Pretend", "Kids", and "Electric Feel", there's the door. No such moments exist on Congratulations. Hell, there aren't even failed attempts at replicating those songs here. This time out, MGMT aren't crafting pop; they're Creating Art. The problem is that many of the half-million or so people who bought their debut, Oracular Spectacular, just want a couple catchy-as-, ear-candy singles to blast in their cars or put on with their friends.
Also, the John Butler Trio just released "April Uprising." Have not had a chance to listen to it yet but I love JBT so I'm hoping for good things.
I dunno how I feel about Plastic Beach. Stylo was the only song that really held my attention.
I agree. It got good reviews but I personally don't think its as good as their first 2 albums.

New material from Trent Reznor is rumored to be released this summer.
The 6 track self titled EP called "How to Destroy Angels" (yes that is almost certainly an allusion to the Coil album).
NOT a NIN album. No one even knows for sure that it is TR but it screams of Trent and the pic at the Angels site looks like his wife Mariqueen. Also, the site design and the video look like the work of Rob Sheridian, longtime collaborator with NIN and TR.
Rumours are that this is a collaboration between TR and his wife. The site includes a 40s clip.
It is possible that TR is just producing for Mariqueen and that a NIN release is forthcoming. I'd bet on TR doing both. He tends to work in bunches and with this, new NIN and the song he did for Tetsuo: The Bullet Man, I'd be willing to bet that How to Destroy Angels isn't a solo Mariqueen project but a full on collaboration between the two of them.

Oh and Trent's wife is HOT.
