Because that's when the gloves are going to come off for Piastri vs Norris I think. Play nice until the constructors title is locked up and then let the drivers actually duel it out Senns vs Prost style.

AM really have to sack Lance. At this point as the car gets better he's becoming a severe liability.
I think they were saying during FP2 that Singapore seemed likely.

Isack is pretty special. Seems like a super good kid. Helmut Marko called his emotions after his first race embarrassing…now he’ll be lucky to keep him on the team.

If Red Bull could get their #### together, it would be a ton of fun watch Max and Oscar race in their peak cars. Oscar is just so unflappable and Max is absolutely fearless and is almost a metronome when it comes to placing his car where it needs to be.

I’m not a Verstappen guy but it’s a bit sad to not get to see him drive a car that is worthy of his legendary skills.

Plenty of races left. I suspect there'll be a couple of DnF in McLarens future.

Not a lot of mechanical failures these days so Piastri will need to #### it up for Lando to make up ground. Especially with McLaren being by far the best team.

Pretty sure McLaren went all of 2024 and this year without a mechanical retirement until today (at least in the Grands Prix). You don't want to go into 'prevent' mode too early, but Oscar seems pretty well suited to be cool and calculating from here on out without sacrificing pace.

They obviously won't finish 1-2 for the rest of the season (though they were on track for their 5th straight today, which would have tied the record), but assuming they did (and ignoring sprints), Lando would have to win 7 out of 9 to end up ahead by 1 point.

Australia (9th) and Monaco (3rd) are the only times Oscar has finished more than 1 spot behind Lando this year. Lando just has Bahrain (3rd), Saudi (4th), Canada, and today, but was also well back in two of the sprints. Hard to see it, but just one DNF for Oscar likely puts things back under 10 points.

Can't get a clean image link, but this made me laugh (again...I think I've seen it a few times now and it never fails)

It looks good, but they should have done all red down to the bottom and painted the wings and wheel lips silver also. I do like how the numbers are black on white, easy to read. Most of the time you can barely see the number on a car these days.

Colton Herta to Cadillac as test driver. Probably heading to F2 next year to get super license points so he can be in F1 in 2027

Man, gutted for Lando. Mechanical failures in top teams are rare these days. Will be hard for him to pull out a WDC I think.

I'm still super annoyed that McLaren forked around with the BS inter-team crap last year, instead of putting full support behind Lando in his fight with Verstappen for WDC. Lando sticks with them long term and they're like meh - Oscar gets to play too. No, how about you support your defacto number one driver against Verstappen, and tell Oscar he'll get his chance next year.

I'm also annoyed with myself at how annoyed I still am over 2024 McLaren haha.
