Probably not, although they probably don't make the playoffs last year if he doesn't come in with OPS>1.0 for 116 at bats to end the year.

That's like adding Ohtani or Seager's hitting at the deadline.

He's not very likely to keep that up this year, but he is 3rd in OPS on thr team, and is tied for the lead in HR with the 10th most at-bats.

Tldr; the bats have been terrible but for a bench player/platoon guy he's outperforming for sure.

His defence is highly suspect. But he's probably not good enough over the long run to be the DH daily. So where do they put him? Could probably get away with him at 2nd but I just don't know. He has the same build and stature as Varsho. What do you do with that?

Not sure why Pearson was ever ranked the #1 prospect in baseball. He can't get his control consistent enough. Plus he doesn't particularly hide the ball well. Pete Walker is good, but he clearly has work to do (to me).

Feels like this is about as good as it gets for Pearson.

But Schneider still won't start tomorrow.

Why wasn't there a pinch runner for Vogelbach?

Still frustrating team to watch, but it's nice to see the team make a game of it and also nice to see vladdy get one.

Damn. Of course they lose by one run after the Vogelbach out. Made the Yankees bullpen work at least. That would have probably been an over 4 hour game with the old rules.

Honestly some positives from that game. Doubles, home runs, cashing in runners. All positive.

Unless Varsho moves to full time CF he should be a bench piece going forward. Schneider needs regular ABs.

Embarrassing… but in hindsight it did start the momentum shift.

Looks like Barriera, the Jays 1st round pick from 2022, got pulled from his first start with an arm injury.

Going to bet that is TJ coming up for him. At least he is very young and it happened early in the season so he can be back early next season.

It’s kinda silly but it’s about time there’s some emotion from him. If this gets him into the action to be a little more assertive as a leader, why not? To do it in a 9-3 game is a bit much but the past few years he’s been very very muted.

What planet are you guys on. It’s the New York Yankees! They deserve no respect from anyone!! Im happy Vlad did his home run trot. #### the Yankees.

They’re the team that stole signs, signed POS Chapman, Cole using Gorilla glue on his hands, with the most entitled fan base on earth.

Man, I get it, ####ting on the Jays is the sexy thing right now but wow. I support Vlad 100%.

It's not about what team they were playing, it's the idiocy and lack of awareness to "shush" a team that is pounding on you 9-2 because you just hit a home run to make it 9-3

...but that is his normal homerun celebration. It's even on the cover of MLB The Show 24. I get that it could be perceived as a bad look but these guys are so engrained in their celebrations. It's like the stupid Soto shuffle or him bat flipping walks.

The funny thing is. If Vlad has a swing like that in any of his first 3 AB's the Jays win with how many he stranded.

Who cares man, what’s your arbitrary threshold for a home run celebration? Down by 4? 3? If they were up by 5 would that negate a celebration too? They almost came back too! Celebrate achievements, unwritten codes are stupid, sports is supposed to be fun.
