Would be nice if we were in Vegas... Not sure how useful outdoor dining will be during the regular season. Not much for patio nights between Nov and Mar/Apr...

You’re giving them too much credit. This is the corner we’ll be seeing when they shoot from Scotsman’s Hill.

Functionality and amenities (for fans and players) are the most important things. As long as it isn't Edmonton Public Library ugly, then it's great.

This exactly, all I want to know is what the nosebleed bathroom situation is like.
IMO the press level bathrooms at the saddledomeme were extremely functional, not only that, but you could watch the game while waiting for a beer.

The new building isn't really going to have a "nosebleed" section like the Saddledome does, so there isn't a direct comparison.
It will have an upper level concourse which appears to be well-equipped for washroom space. You may not be able to see the ice when you're in-line for beer, but with more washrooms and beer stands, you shouldn't have to stand in line as long.
There will be a small "balcony" seating area on the same level as the press box, but it looks like it will only have seating for a couple hundred people. I suspect it will be similar to the Gondola sections at Little Caesars and will likely be priced as a Premium ticket.

Posted below is the Arena site map. All floors plus the parkade maps will be posted below, but the pictures are big they'll be spoilers instead.
First Storey
Second Storey
Third Storey
Fourth Storey
Fifth Storey A
Fifth Storey B
Sixth Storey
Parkade
My takeways:
- Horsehoe-style locker for the Flames
- Four-sided squared scoreboard on the way, I guess?
- TV camera might be higher than the Saddledome
- i don't like how the middle lower bowl will look on TV. It looks a little incoomplete

What's your concern?
I assume it will look similar to Nationwide Arena, like in this image (friggin' huge).
The Main Concourse will be about 2/3 of the way up the lower bowl. As you enter from the Main Concourse, you'll either go straight down to your seats if you're in the lower 2/3, or you'll turn and go up a small flight of stairs and back to your seats. The wheelchair seats will also be located between the two parts of the lower bowl (if I'm reading them right).
On camera, I believe it should look like one large seating bowl with the mid-bowl entrances.

I am sure it’s gonna be practical and functional inside; but man, is this ever a bland building! Unremarkable in all respects.

Ultimately it's the concern of the taxpayer that will prevent much wow factor from occurring.

Total pet peeve of mine being a planning nerd. You’ll see B roll where like 2 of the 3 tallest buildings are not yet in the skyline. Or just the lonely Ariva tower from back when Bigtime lived there. ;-)

Does any existing arena have rink-side wheelchair seating?

Yes and no, say what you want about how much that central library cost but it looks amazing.
