Since the conditions on the Gustafsson trade are for the highest 3rd rounder, I wonder if this means the Rangers pick goes to Chicago and the Flames will now keep their own third (and the Oilers' pick if they give it up)?

Dropping from 19 to 22 means the Flames have a grouping of at least 4 guys they see as basically equal.

In that case picking up an extra 3rd rounder and still getting one of those 4 guaranteed makes sense.

I can’t believe anyone would get mad at moving down 3 spots.

Like 19th overall was guaranteed to be a superstar?

It’s literally trading a mystery box for another almost identical mystery box.

How can anyone be like, “no, no, I wanted that first mystery box!”?
