4 million a year to play 40 games for Vancouver. Good investment. Honestly if he can fetch that kind of contract, good for him. Just really glad it's not with the Flames.

At least they can line up interviews with all the players who sign and get traded and with various GMs around the league.

It's not like the trade deadline where they're sitting around waiting for anything to happen.

Yeah, it might actually be good for them. They must be getting much better than normal ratings tonight with all this action, and they can hit the ground running tomorrow morning with interviews and analysis of winners and losers right away. Other deals will still trickle in to give them new things to talk about.

From a players perspective, who will make the worst decision, not including anyone who signs for the oilers. By that I mean who will have turned down a reasonable deal thinking they could do better elsewhere only to be the one left without a dance partner. Thinking maroon last year (turned out well in the end) or Russell when he had to sign a prove it deal in Edmonton.

I can see this. I'm sure the Canucks still remember what he did to them in the playoff series and he did say the Sedins were his moms favourite players so it might indicate a predisposed sentiment toward the Canucks organization on Ferland's part.

I don't know if he is worth that. If he can stay healthy he is but his injuries keep him out of lineup or playing soft/tentative if he tries to play through them.

It'll be interesting how the market develops.

We absolutely need to make at least one trade for $0 coming back basically. Brodie or Frolik seem likely, Stone less so.

Moving Brodie for picks may be easiest to pull off after the first wave of free agent defencemen are off the table and a team that missed out needs to address their D via trade.

Personally, I'm still hoping Frolik for picks happens (NJ was the rumour), as does Brodie for Kadri.

Yeah, seems like all the roadblocking pieces for the Flames potential moves are cleared up. Itll be interesting to see what happens out of the saddle dome tomorrow.

I think there'll be some low key additions. And a few AHL deals.
