Group B is one heck of a tough group, really tough to pick a winner out of Croatia, Spain, and Russia.

Nishikori has won the first 12 points of this match and Gulbis is already muttering to the umpire about how noisy the crowd is lol.
Edit: The run ends at 14 points as Gulbis hits an ace.

Jason Jung dispatches Frances Tiafoe in straight sets 6-3 7-5 at the New York Open. If Brayden Schnur can get past Lorenzi on Friday, he will play the winner of Jung and Sam Querrey.

Any word on the venue/location?

Really happy for Schnur to get this far already. Cool to see a guy you've watched at ITF, Challenger and Davis cup events locally finally take another step forward.
A clay courter like Lorenzi should really pose no problem compared to a guy like Johnson. This next match is all on Schnur to win or lose.

The finals are in Madrid and will be contested on indoor hard courts which definitely is a plus for Canada.

Another Canadian double-header of tennis today - Schnur vs. Lorenzi is about to start (no tv, but streaming on TennisTV) and Denis will take on Stan the Man at 11:30 Mountain time on TSN3.

Schnur has elected to receive opening serve in his match against Lorenzi. More reason to believe his confidence is at an all time high.

Big game from Schnur as he fights off 2 break points to hold. At 3-3 he's going to have to start going for some returns to try and generate a few break points of his own.

Backhand is giving him some issues today - Lorenzi is pretty solid from the baseline, it's gong to be a battle for Brayden.

Another gutsy hold for Schnur. Hopefully he's got more in the tank today and can start getting Lorenzi out of his comfort zone....You won't win many matches returning at a 20% clip.
Edit: I have noticed Lorenzi's 1st Sv% has been steadily dropping since the first few games. This might give Schnur the looks he needs at the backend of this set.

Wow. Schnur elevates his game to take a big 6-3 lead in the tie break only to eventually lose his two set points and the set 6-7(7). That has to hurt. He will need a big boost coming into the second set to turn this around after that.
