A couple of the prop bets posted,

You can bet on the total number of gold medals won by the USA in the 2018 Winter Olympics versus total first-quarter points by the Patriots and Eagles. Gold medals are minus-0.5.

The Vegas Golden Knights' total Stanley Cup Playoff wins (-0.5) versus Eagles and Patriots TDs.

I've been twice and both times went to the Westgate to sit in the theatre. First time was awesome and I had a blast. Second time my buddy and I didn't get enough sleep the night before and I had to haul him out of there halfway through the second quarter because he was too drunk and people were getting ready to kick his ass. Up until that point however, it had been fun.

Fun fact, Jimmy Garoppolo will make more money from the Superbowl than Tom Brady.

Superbowl week starts with more Brady related controversy- a radio personality from the official Patriots affiliate referred to Brady's 5 year old daughter as a "pissant". Brady responded with only a brief appearance on his weekly interview on the station, saying he will possibly have nothing to do with them again.

Trying to imagine the fallout if a similar thing happened in Calgary with 960 and a Flames player... and this Boston station undoubtedly has way more listeners being Patriots radio- especially heading into superbowl week. No way this was calculated though. Seems like this guy just royally screwed his career and the station has possibly lost access to one of the biggest athletes in the world.

What could possibly possess a person to call a five year an "annoying little pissant".

I suspect most five year olds are annoying...they are five.

Here's the quote:

“The first scene was so staged, where Brady is in the kitchen, his kid’s being an annoying little pissant.”

The guy who destroyed Vegas during the World Series is back and is heavily backing the Eagles. If he cleans up again I imagine he's got a nice hole in the desert waiting for him as a comp.

Quote:
The same unnamed bettor who took Las Vegas for millions on the World Series is back looking for another big score on the Super Bowl.

He's betting on the underdog Philadelphia Eagles for big bucks.

William Hill U.S. on Monday became the second sportsbook to report taking a $1 million bet on the Eagles. Director of trading Nick Bogdanovich said his book accepted a $1 million money-line bet on Philadelphia at +165 odds. The bet was first reported by Covers.com.

Last week, MGM reported taking a "multimillion" dollar bet on the Eagles, and sportsbook operator CG Technology and the South Point each have taken money-line wagers on the Eagles for $700,000 and $500,000, respectively.

Johnny Avello, executive director for Wynn Race & Sports, told ESPN that he also took a "good-size, six-figure" money-line bet on the Eagles, adding to what had already been lopsided action on Philadelphia.

Multiple sources told ESPN that they're all from the same bettor who went on a winning streak during the World Series that contributed to Nevada's books losing $11.4 million on baseball in November, the books' worst baseball month ever.

The customer's name has not been revealed. Some referred to him as "Bettor X" in October, when he placed a series of the largest money-line bets on the World Series, winning each one.

"He's one of the guys who was floating around betting all that money on the World Series," veteran Las Vegas bookmaker Jimmy Vaccaro, now of the South Point, told the Associated Press. "I don't think he lost a bet then, we'll see how he does now."

There was another guy this year who bet a bunch of money on the Eagles to win the Super Bowl at 50-1 before the season started. Wish I could find the article but this was back in preseason. I'm still super nervous about this matchup. I think the Pats RBs making catches out of the backfield could cause a lot of problems for the Eagles, and Brady and BB have owned Schwartz over the years. Also hard to see Foles having the game of his life again.

I think its ironic that they use the term guy floating around.

If you have the money why not bet on the underdog this week, because I assume that the payout on the Pats will be pathetic.

In terms of the dynamics of the Pats defense its tough to stop, and it looks like Gronk is going to go and that's a big problem for the Eagles.

I don't think that Foles can replicate what he did last game, and this game is going to be like the old blowout superbowls.

New England -4.5 Philadelphia 48 -$185 +$165

Not great but not terrible either.

If you are confident that NE is gonna win, wager 185 bucks to collect 285.

hahahah how pathetic are Vega's sports books if they can't take a $11million hit. And they are pretty pathetic. I was so disappointed when I was in Vegas for their world 'renown' sportsbook when EVERYTHING online is so much better.

Canadians have it great with online betting. You can't even live bet the superbowl in Vegas! I'm shocked no one in Canada has started catering to
fly Americans up for online sports betting.

I think most people know that the Pats change things up game to game, and Im certain other teams "try" the same approach. The diff is B & B have been together forever. The Steelers are probably next best at this type of game planning.
Romo has mentioned this on almost every telecast he has done color on with the Pats. He literally LOL when he sees the mismatches.

I think that a lot of teams are more along the lines with systems + wrinkles. Their base system and then every week they might tweek with a motion or a change route, or a on field read call.

Even at our level, we basically add wrinkles to our system, or we'll plug in a new formation that we can run our plays out of just to disguise a look.

Being able to basically re-create an offense on a weekly basis though, that's impressive.

Isn't on-line betting in Canada in a legal grey area?

I wonder how much is changed or modified at half time dependant on whether the team is winning or losing?

Ok, my perspective is meaningless.

But usually at halftime, my adjustments are around personal, and personal matches.

So I'll give you an example. If I start the game playing a set Oline, and my running game isn't working properly to one side, I'll start flopping the Oline tot he run side.

I might switch receivers against cover guys.

If I'm winning the game, I might shorten my playcall availability, to plays that are less high risk.

If I'm losing, I'm going to maybe open up my playcall sheet.

But its extremely rare, that I'm creating plays on the side. I might for example change routes.

So if for example, my route structure on a balanced formation is 9-2-2-9. I might change it if I notice that the opposition is playing an inside zone to something like a 9-0-0-9.

But we're not inventing plays at the half, everything that we need should be on our playcall sheet.

lso frankly when you look at a 15 minute half time you don't have a lot of time.

First 5 minutes, talk to your position coaches, give a summery of what you saw by position, get their feedback. Give directions. While we're doing that, usually the defensive coordinator is doing the same thing, and the head coach is talking to the team overall.

That's literally what a half time adjustment looks like at my level.

Next 5 minutes, talk to the team as a whole, any adjustments in personal. QB its not your day, this guys going in. We're going to flop the line on running plays. We're not going to run out of the I, and we're going to use the Ace and Heavy Formation because it gets the blocking closer to the line. Oline we're changing the splits to 2 inches, and the double teams from the tackle and guard have to be better. Also receivers we're going to compress the splits between the line and the Slots and going to an inside waggle

We noticed these routes are being covered well, but their half backs can't cover the Flag routes.

Then the lat 5 minutes, you break the team up to the position coaches, as the Coordinator, I'll go with the QB's and the QB coach to make sure he under stands what I want to do in the second half.

Then on the walk back from the end zone of dressing room, you're giving the head coach a 30 second summary of your adjustments and getting an idea of how he's going to call kicking situations (Ie where he's comfortable for field goals vs punts, when he's going to go for it)

Honestly there's not a lot of time to do massive changes.

Still rumour mill at this point, but sources have reportedly told the Kansas City Star the Chiefs have a deal in place to trade Alex Smith to Washington.

Yeah supposed a player and picks. I wonder where Cousins goes now? Maybe Denver?

Smith played well for KC. But I don't know if he can get Washington any further than he could get the Chiefs.
