Yeah, MacKinnon isn't declining. He has a career 0.7 PPG. Monahan's is 0.67, and he's played 19 more games.

I wouldn't take either over McDavid if I had the choice.

Differnce is Monahan is improving every season. Mackinnon hasn't been able to get better every year.

IMO

McDavid>Monahan>Mackinnon

What's with all the judging based on one game?

Pretty weird way to make decisions. 3 of the 4 North American goals were fluke goals anyway.

If McDavid had banked in two goals off a defenceman's ass should he be called the GOAT?

I doubt anyone on the actual team is as upset about McDavid being named captain as some fans are.

The tournament has been highly entertaining thus far. The intensity of.the exhibition few has been a welcomed surprise. Sucks North America games keep going head to head with the NFL

You know, guys, Raitis Ivanans was the most consistent fighter the Flames ever had! He had a fight in his one and only game in 2010-11! That's 1.0 FPG (fights per game)! I believe this because I make my judgements of players after only one game, which is a perfect sample size. Also, Nathan MacKinnon is the best player in the World Cup of Hockey, and Jack Eichel is a useless bum!

Are you Finnish by any chance?

No. But I lived for three years in Norge, and have quite a few good friends at the University of Helsinki. Combine that with years and years of over saturation of Swedish players on the Vancouver Canucks, and there you have it.

So mostly peer pressure then? Weak. Nilsson, Loob, Huselius and Backlund should weigh up for the Nucks.

You would take Mackinnon and Monahan over McDavid? That's absolutely crazy talk.

I was looking through the Finnish roster earlier. It's really not very good. Goaltending is about all they have. Not a lot of high-end talent at the players' positions.

I think there's an argument to be made with regard to Gaudreau vs McDavid. I expect it to be had a lot over the next decade.

When it comes to Monahan/MacKinnon vs McDavid, there is no such debate. Monahan and MacKinnon are great young players. McDavid is better.

Their defense is not good enough. North America is going to eat them alive.
