Dominic Thiem continues his strong play of late knocking off Dimitrov in straight sets in Acapulco (7-5, 6-2). The 22 year old from Austria is currently ranked #15 and is looking poised to enter the top 10 in short order.

Edit: Nestor can't play either. It's for a family reason; hope all is okay.
Tennis Canada is having issues with the English version of the article, so here's the French:

well that's that. get ready for playoff round in September.
With Vasek playing like crap it's probably for the best. Give Milos a full ATP season without Davis Cup commitments.

No surprise that France leads Canada 2-0 after day one of Davis Cup action. Monfils beat Dancevic and Simon topped Vasek (both in straight sets).

I forgot to include this little tidbit above - Vasek was leading Simon 5-love in the first set of their match earlier today.

Genie won 6-4, 6-3. She will play Svitolina in the final. With the win today she has already surpassed her win total for all of 2015.

No shock to see Canada out at the Davis Cup. Bester had some fight in that doubles match though. We don't see much of him.
