Not to worry, I'm sure Bieksa will know Ferlands name by the end of this series.

Scoring Winger

Just curious, does anyone have a better shot of Engelland and Dorsett in the corner? I can't tell from the CBC feed if they are just wrestling or Engelland is throwing punches.

I may have forgotten to mention that, for now anyway, it doesn't look like anybody other than Engelland is in danger of being suspended.

How in the hell is that possible??? The biggest suspendible play of the whole night was Hamuis being a 3rd man in. What the hell is Engelland going to be suspended for? Getting attacked by two Canucks at once? This is B.S.!

He is saying that because the instigator in the last 5 minutes is supposed to be a suspension.
Nothing else that is on the official score sheet is suspend able.
At least that was the context of his tweets, what is on the official score sheet.

Oh to be a fly on the wall to be able to hear Burke and Treliving on the phone with the league right now.

I understand that but clearly there was no instigation there and how does Hamuis walk away after being the 3rd man in? That seems much worse to me than a ghost instigator.

Ferland seems to me to be quite a bit like Vancouvers Kassian. Strong like bull but not quite as smart.

The fact that he understands his role at his age and in the playoffs makes me think he is pretty smart.

Hmmm.
Better scorer in junior and minors
Sounds smarter in interviews
Doesn't look like a hairy ape
Not sure there's a comparable there

Lifetime Suspension
|
I have no idea how he could have gotten an instigator. Dorsett was constantly pushing him back and Engelland wasn't engaging at all. He got pushed into the net, Dorsett tried to go for a take down, Engelland stayed up by holding onto the post of the net, then fell back against the boards. They finally scuffled in the corner.
Then Hamhuis came in, 3rd man in. Engelland held the two of them off. Finally it was seperated and Dorsett again was the one who engaged, then popped Deryk right in the face.
It's mind boggling. No idea what the guys in the stripped shirts were doing. Richardson took Stajan down and instead of stopping, he just started to punch him as his back was on the ice? It's madness.
Stuff happens and I really aren't upset about any of this from the Canucks, but don't blame it all on one team.
Want to see Ferland fired up and crazy Sunday.

No way would a ref deputize a player to be a 5th official.

If a ref did do that, then I hope that ref gets fined and doesn't coach another playoff game.

That should've been a match penalty right there and then, and an automatic next game suspension from that.
|
Wow, what a scumbag. Pinning Stajan's arm like that so he can give him a forearm/elbow smash in the face. Why isn't that being reviewed by the league right now?

It's not that he doesn't know who he is, it's that he doesn't know how to read.

Ferland's role is reminding me a lot of Chris Simon's back in 04. Throw some hits, defend his teammates, and has some skill to boot.
