It gets even worse when you think that he was freeing up money to re-sign Tanguay to a long term deal...yuck.
I think that was more to free up the massive offer for Richards than Tangs contract that wasn't overly bad at the time with Tangs coming off a good season.
It won't be Burke. The comments sound the same as when Darryl said there is 5 top coaches in the NHL 2 of them are employed and hes the 3rd best, and if he can't find the guy he will coach the team.

Seriously, what GM worth anything would come in and work UNDER Burke? Aint gonna happen.
@SNHockeyCentral Brian Burke tells @timandsid he is prepared to take over as GM of Flames if he can't find the right candidate.
Still kind of shocking that people thought Burke was in danger of leaving if a GM spot opened up and that he didn't have full control of who the GM was here.
As I said before, if Burke wants to be a GM, he'll be the GM here.

Anyone that is contacted and given the chance to become a NHL GM will take it. 30 jobs, don't come along that often, when you are given the chance you take it, especially if it's a scout or someone. These chances don't always come around.

It reminds me of that skit for horrible bosses, where they spend months looking for a replacement, then the VP decides that he will step in and take the role, expand his office and take 85% more salary.
What?! This is really shocking. And kind makes me nervous... Gives the impression that he wanted Feaster to make some kind of move/trade but Feaster refused and there was no budging from either side. Please... PLEASE don't trade baertschi Burke.
Really? If Feaster didn't want to do a deal and Burke did it was probably a good trade for the Flames
Feaster almost gave away the 6th overall pick for nothing
Sean Monahan for NOTHING
in hindsight its shocking he wasn't fired the next day
There's many words I could use after almost 3 years of a slick talking Feaster, but amen sums it up nicely.
Thank you to Brian Burke for pulling the bandaid off quickly so this franchise can contiune to regain the reputation it's lost over the past 3 years. 3 months of evaluation showed enough of what was lacking.
As for Wisebrod, he was linked pretty tight to Feaster it seemed...and I think you either have to hire him as GM or let him go.

Flames would be an awesome team for any new GM. They have cap space, actual money to spend, guys to get rid of at the deadline, some young guys coming.
So you have 40M in cap space for next season and have to spend at least 20 mmkay
