Weird episode
I find myself getting more and more upset that they aren't wrapping this up.... 3 episodes left!

I find this a far more likely explanation than the Daniel Greystone theory. I don't think it could be Daniel Greystone as the timelines didn't match up. I recall Ellen saying that the Final Five (or should we say Original Five) didn't arrive at the 12 colonies until the end of the First Cylon War. Well after the events of Caprica.
I suspect, however, that since Daniel Greystone apparently had a lot to do with the creation of cylons in the 12 colonies that the No. 7 model may be named after him in a type of tribute.

If Daniel was Kara's dad wouldn't this make Kara the first Cylon Hybrid? It would explain alot. Also the Cylon "imprinting" or vision that Boomer used on the Chief.... is that why Baltar sees the 6 through out the whole series?

FYI, an interview with the writers of Friday's most excellent episode plus other commentary on the episode at The Watcher in the Chicago Tribune.
A sampler:
Mo: Did Boomer really love the Chief? Or was that final speech to him just another part of her con job?
Weddle: Did Boomer really love the Chief? That’s an interesting question and one I don’t have a neat answer to. Boomer is deeply conflicted. I think the process of having false memories planted in her, getting switched “on” as a Cylon, shooting Adama, getting shot by Cally, and her experiences on New Caprica have left her severely disturbed. She was determined to go through with her mission, but in the process of seducing Tyrol she reawakened feelings of love that she thought were dead. I think she experienced real misgivings just before she got on that Raptor, but felt she had gone too far to back down. Wrapped up in that is her perverse envy of Athena, who obtained everything Boomer once wanted, and this festered into a sick desire to strike out at Athena. It’s difficult to say someone who did that loves the Chief, and yet in her damaged way, I think she did and still does love him.
Thompson: Good question. She may not even know the answer. Boomer’s a complicated, damaged individual. Might both be true?

The link can also take you to an interview with Jane Espison, the writer of the most-not-excellent previous week episode as she offers some of her rationales.

The final episode of the series is 2 hours long, w/ the 9th episode of this season being a lead up to the finale (I'm guessing a "to be continued"). So although only 3 eps are left, there is 4 hours of BSG to come. http://www.airlockalpha.com/news426076.html?
Don't panic... I think this episode in a lot of ways is a big setup for the final 3. They had to say something about Kara, and set something up with Hera. We also haven't seen or heard from Cavil in quite a while. One would guess that Boomer is taking Hera back to Cavil, who makes his triumphant return in episode 9. No idea how next week's episode unfolds though.

i have a feeling the ending to this series is going to be very disappointing. they've been aimlessly rambling around ever since finding Earth and except for the mutiny no episode has stood out to me as "damn, that was good". unless they have something special in store for these last 2 episodes i can't see the ending fulfilling expectations

I am enjoy the series, but have to admit I am somewhat lost (maybe cause I didn't see Razor). I am hoping the next four hours of the series clear things up.

I'm sure we'll have a big 'WOW!!!" finish to all this but sometimes you get the impression they're trying mightily to turn a lumbering barge in a certain direction to get us to the big "WOW!!!" finish.
The Chicago Tribune's The Watcher blog with another interesting analysis of last night's episode at this link: http://featuresblogs.chicagotribune....tars.html#more
EDIT: The writer of this episode talks about some of the things edited out, including this:
I know that there were scenes, or at least one scene, of Tryol in the brig, and I think my sense there was that he had confessed and put himself in there out of guilt.
An interview with the writer at this link:

Lastly, the preview for next week has Adama calling for volunteers for a probably gonna die, one-way mission. I would presume Adama is taking the Galactica to fetch Hera.
And was that Jupiter lurking outside of Cavell's astroid home?

I just want it to be over at this point. I'm disappointed that 4 seasons of watching this show is culminating in so many weak episodes to end it off.

Yes, it is. We know who all 12 models are, and even got an extra, in Daniel (so, I guess they're the baker's dozen of Cylons)
Additionally, Tigh didn't have a baby with an 8. Caprica 6 was pregnant with his baby. The 8's are the Boomers/Sharons/Athenas.
That flowchart really didn't do anything except confuse me more.

From memory (I might make a few mistakes here):
The "Final Five" are Mr. & Mrs. Tigh, Anders, Tyroll, and Tory.
The numbered models are:
1: Cavil
3: Xena: Warrior Cylon
6: Caprica/Gina/Natalie/etc.
8: Sharon/Athena/Boomer
The other three (whose numbers I don't know) are Leoban, that black doctor guy, and that other white guy that isn't Leoban or Cavil.
Number 7 hasn't been revealed yet, other than his name, Daniel. He's most likely Starbuck's father/the ghostly pianist.

The chart actually makes sense to me (oh God I am such a BSG nerd), it appears to believe that the remaining humans and cylons will end up back on Kobol (mispelled in the chart, once again I'm a huge nerd).
