Here's a look at some stats for teams we're fighting with. "Playoff teams" are teams that would be in it if the playoffs started today.

I like our schedule but I think Florida will end up 30th.

25) Philadelphia (Home: 11-5-2, Road: 4-12-1)
13 games remaining – 6 Home, 7 Road
9 games against playoff teams
2 sets of back-to-back games
1 three-game road trip

26) Buffalo (Home: 6-7-3, Road: 7-10-3)
12 games remaining – 8 Home, 4 Road
8 games against playoff teams
2 sets of back-to-back games
1 three-game home stand

27) Tampa Bay (Home: 10-7-1, Road: 5-11-0)
14 games remaining – 6 Home, 8 Road
6 games against playoff teams
2 sets of back-to-back games
1 three-game road trip
1 four-game road trip

28) Florida (Home: 6-8-5, Road: 5-11-1)
12 games remaining – 5 Home, 7 Road
8 games against playoff teams
2 sets of back-to-back games
1 four-game road trip

29) Calgary (Home: 10-6-2, Road: 3-10-2)
15 games remaining – 6 Home, 9 Road
8 games against playoff teams
3 sets of back-to-back games
1 three-game road trip
1 four-game road trip
1 three-game home stand

30) Colorado (Home: 10-6-1, Road: 2-12-3)
14 games remaining – 7 Home, 7 Road
6 games against playoff teams
2 sets of back-to-back games
1 four-game home stand

I don't think we'll finish ahead of Florida, Colorado or Buffalo (ahead meaning behind) that would put us fourth last overall. I find myself like a lot in this thread cheering for three point games and looking at who's behind us and cheering for them to come up with wins.

I would like to get Mckinnon in the draft therefore I hope we are not picking first. I would assume the flames would take seth jone with the first overall pick so picking 2nd or 3rd would be perfect!

Feasters move today with JBow, and talks with Kipper and others, 30th looks like it's still a possibility. Colorado lose in regulation tonight

We'll never catch Colorado. They're next level bad.

Only way we get 30th is if we keep kipper.

Very true. Fortunately, so are the Flames.

Colorado still has some good young players with speed and skill, after the trade deadline, this Flames roster could rival the young guns era/roster bad.

Super excited for the draft, but this years team will bring it home on fumes

As soon as Kipper is dealt, this team is done. I could see maybe 3 more wins for the rest of the year. The Avs will keep it respectable. If the Flames trade Kipper, tangs, Cammy or even guys like Stempniak or Glencross than I could see them fighting the panthers for 30th

I'm claiming there is a significant possibility of 30th now. Can we start a pool?

One bit of good news is that FLA and Tampa play each other tomorrow. Hopefully FLA wins in OT.

Just to temper our expectations:

Oilers 2007:

6th overall, Sam Gagner
15th overall, Alex Plante
21st overall, Riley Nash

The Oilers managed one second line center when loading up on firsts.

The 07 draft was the worst one since 2000 though, so it's not a good measuring stick.

The 13 draft is looking to be fairly decent.

Plus the Oilers can't draft anyone good unless they get the #1 pick and even then they're not exceptional.

How does Joe Sacco still have a job?

It's completely feasible that the Flames fail to win all of their remaining games.

I see wins on April 8, 13, and 23... besides that, nothing.

I'm baffled by this as well. There is way too much talent on that roster to be mucking around at the bottom of the West.

Lindy Ruff is looking for a job, I hear.

That makes me feel better. Do you know what were they saying of the 2007 draft class prior to the draft?
