Supposedly it's the next mega tower being proposed for Calgary. Will be taller than Brookfield and the tallest building in Calgary.

Can some of those more in the know attach a percentage to the chances of us seeing this thing built? I'm excited.
If we had this, Brookfield and Telus Sky, along with the Bow, our skyline comparison from 2008 til whenever this new one was complete would be jaw dropping.

From my read-through of the SSP forums, I'm not even convinced that "the Gateway" was anything more a joke.

Time to start guessing on this one, I'm going with the rumoured 7 tower proposal for the parking lots west of the Eau Claire YMCA.

Calgary is awesome to watch in terms of property development because they're so much more going on than most other cities. There's always a new marquee project popping up around town which is great to see.

Do we give Rollin any credit for this skyscraper boom, or does it mainly lie with the hot real estate market we're in?

Would this be the mystery "Gateway" project that is supposed to surpass Brookfield?

I hope some of these new proposals also include ways to increase pedestrian traffic and street-level retail and services so as to improve the ghost-town effect. I'm hoping the new Eau Claire redevelopment will help alleviate that, especially around the river walk area.

I attribute most of this to Bunk, Table 5, and myself.

If I'm not mistaken the rumoured location for "Gateway" (between 4th and 5th St, 9th Ave and CP tracks) falls in Ward 8. Druh might still have a meeting about it though.
