Some quotes from Hartley, haven't seen it posted yet.
“I really believe we have a special player,” Flames head coach Bob Hartley said. “He’s really amazing — his puck skills, his nose for the net … We’re always talking about his size, but we never talk about his speed. This guy moves. This guy moves with and without the puck, and that’s what makes him so dangerous.
“Every time he touched the puck, you could feel the crowd’s reaction from the bench. The crowd’s getting excited. I’ll be honest, I’m a fan, too, and I’m excited when he gets the puck. He’s very creative. He can make plays. He can score goals. He’s pretty special.”
“As a fan, I look at his goals. As a coach, I look at his overall game, and I’ve rarely seen a kid improve his overall game that quickly. This guy has way above-average hockey sense, and his commitment is to winning. He’s not a one-trick pony. This guy’s going to make us win lots of hockey games, whether he scores goals or just his (overall) play. I have lots of trust in him.”

Don't know if it's been brought up yet, but everyone is talking about Johnny being a Calder candidate, but is this kid also a Lady Byng candidate?
He's one of four players who currently have gone unpenalized this season, and have played more than 30 games. The other three are Fowler, Ceci and Johannson. He leads them all in offensive stats.
Recently, teams have been sending out guys to play him pretty physical, but I've personally never seen much retaliation from Johnny, aside from making them look foolish and putting his name on the scoresheet. He handles the pressure incredibly well, and lets his skill do the talking for him. Obviously, size plays a role in this I'm sure, as he's smarter than to start chirping or throwing post whistle sucker punches, though long time Flames fans, know a small guy is very capable of exactly those things.
I personally think he should be in the running if he plays another 38 games the same way he's played his first 38.

A lot of small players tend to make up for size with more slashes, cross checks, etc... so saying small players tend to play nice, isn't exactly true
Obviously J. Hockey does not do this. Great point.
Any one have a link to the Johnny video about Skittles with his father? I have searched multi threads including this one, Perhaps I haven't gone back far enough> Any help would be appreciated!!

I can't wait to see him playing with Bennett, Poirier. Guys who can snipe and take the puck to the net. It's going to be awesome.
Also it'd be nice to see some chemistry with Monahan. When Backlund returns and takes the shut down C role I'm hoping we see this.
Wouldn't surprise me at all to see Hartley continue to go with Monahan in that role. Sean's been playing great with the expanded duties and from the looks of it Backlund will need time to get his play up to a high level again.
What blows me away about his 0 penalty minutes is that he has that stat paired with his takeaways. Aggressive on the puck with no accidental trips or hooks. Pretty impressive!
