Even when its only on a few channels and not others and not all the time and not on the menu system? That would be highly unlikely. Not to mention my xbox, laptop, etc.

I definitely don't have that issue so its not a telus problem.

Is your TV zoomed in a bit? I never noticed this until I changed the setting from "natural" to "native", natural was zoomed in just enough to cover up the lines when they happened.

I've got Optik and have no issues like these... I'm quite pleased with the service.

Though talking about possible problems, has anyone had any sort of issue with using an optical cable to their receiver and experiencing a lot of clipping and sound dropping? I've done all the settings through the box (optical as the output and the surround sound setting) but it's probably once every couple of minutes I'll just lose the signal...any ideas?

Anyone know what the current promo is? My contract expires in August, and I'll be away and would like to hammer out the details of a new deal before then.
Anyone have any contacts at telus that can get me a sweet deal?

For the last couple weeks, my Telus box has been turning off on its own. It happens once a day or once every couple days... It just turns off. It's easy enough to simply turn it back on, but c'mon! I have other uses for my index finger during those instances!
Anyone else experience this?

It could be the overscan part of the signal that is normally not supposed to be seen. Similar to CBC's blinking square before a commercial, during their hockey broadcasts.

There was an update deployed to add a power save mode. It will turn off the box after 4 hours. The green screen is gone now too (Press OK to turn TV on). Its a part of the energy star feature to help conserve power. There is no option to turn this off either.
Do you normally leave the box turned on? Your remote should have been set to turn the TV and STB off/on at the same time. If not, PM me and Ill tell you how to program the remote to do so.

I know that this isn't an 'OPTIK TV' question per se, but do any of the TELUS guys here know if they plan on upping the download throughput of their residential vDSL out west? Currently the max. package you can get it 25Mb/s down, but the vDSL2 standard supports up to 100Mb/s (limited by your loop attenuation of course) and iirc, parts of Quebec are being offered ~50Mb/s down from TELUS.
Are there any plans to move away from xDSL distribution, as Shaw's DOCSIS offers considerably better download throughput? Distance limitations are such a limiting factor in continuing to use xDSL I would imagine.

How do you add channels online with Telus, is adding bundles or channels available? If so does anyone know how. I logged in online but I only see how to set my recordings and see my bill.
Thanks

That's not available online. Have to call customer services to change any packaging or channels.

Easiest way to add channels is to call your installer, they can submit a form online. Other than that just like Otsy said, you have to call in 310-MYTV

I'm not sure if its common practice or I've just been lucky, but I've had channels changed multiple times using the "live agent" option on their website and selecting TV Channel Changes. Really easy and helpful.

That would be sweet, I'll try that next time. Although it's always been very quick and efficient for my calling the 410-mytv. I've never had an issue. I usually just do it on the drive home from work and by the time I get home all the changes have take effect.

TELUS customers will soon be able to add channels online through the normal customer portal, but that won't be until October at the earliest. Before that, customers will be able to change their subscriptions through their TV, likely in August.

I finally got an activation code out of telus for my xbox, 10th time is the charm I guess, very happy about that though. I was just wondering if the source is still 1080I or if it's 1080P like the output of the xbox?
