Seravalli is a complete hack. The sooner people realize it, the better.

He is probably trying to run with the speculation Marky is upset with ownership and not Conroy. I don't think his comments had anything to do with either, he was just pissed off all this stuff came out in the media. It has to be rough on him right now. I think it was a frustration throwaway comment the media is making a mountain out of a mole hill here.

Why would he be that upset though? Do you believe he was asked if he would waive for Jersey before negotiations? In which case I'm sure the Flames would have told him nothing is worked out yet but Jersey has reached out and expressed interest. In this scenario I don't see why he would be that upset if they go back to him and say ya we didn't like the offers so we're not trading you.

Or do you believe that a deal was worked out enough to a point where they came to him and said hey were getting close would you waive? In this scenario I could see him being pissed because he's now preparing for a potential move, probably telling his family, and then the trade doesn't happen.

So what could been handled differently from up top? That to me sounds like he didnt like something the Flames did. That doesn't sound to me like he's upset about media. The story could leak from Jerseys side which the Flames have no control over.

The problem is that these days hate just garners you a larger following.

Frank definitely doesn't care for why somebody is clicking on his ####. Just that they're clicking.

Inaction as a form of protest is something people these days just suck at doing.

I'm afraid Darth Frank has already won.

Aww man. At least tell me Brent Sopel is coming back as well. I’d love his dashing good looks on this team.

Wrong era Luongo?

He's lost Tanev and Lindholm. Hanifin is next.

He can see winning will be tough.

Flames get some traction with Jersey, don't want to dick around with Fitz so they go to Markstrom. He goes home and talks it over and gives his blessing. Deal falls through (as they often do), and he's choked because he had already resigned himself to the fact he was leaving.

Lashes out at the guys above for not getting the deal done that he thought was finished.

Understandable from a human perspective.

But also understandable from a GM trade perspective. You can't wait until you have a deal with Jersey to approach Markstrom.

Explaining real life negotiations that involve permissions is a waste of time in some cases.
if a person has been involved in the simplest of transactions they understand how these things work.

I don't think the Flames are going to make the playoffs. First, as of 26 minutes ago, Dom Lusczcyszyn of the Athletic gives the Flames a 14% chance of making the playoffs, and he projects them to finish 10th. Second, the Predators are currently projected to reach 95 points as the 8th seed. To beat that, (and I'm going to assume the Predators will have the tie breakers because they have 5 more wins and only 2 OTL,) the Flames need 31 points in the last 21 games. That's the equalivent of 15-5-1, or a 73.8% points percentage. Third, you also have the reality that if the Flames start to catch the Predators or any other team, the team being chased will likely start playing desperate.

If the Flames can get a good return for Markstrom, they should just make the trade. The playoffs are a lost cause.

Holtz + 1st (in 2025) would certainly count as a good return in my books. If the Flames could get Mercer, even better.

My bet is that Conroy is simply holding out to the deadline to get the best possible return.

Yet he's nearly always right regarding the Flames. The hate he receives his is comical.
