In the two biggest games of the season to this point and we lose 5-2 and 6-2 (so far) this is concerning.

TB are a really good team. We’ve been bad but you can see why they’re #1 overall in the league.

Loubo said today on the radio that without a doubt, the Flames would be bringing it tonight. I think he meant bringing their mail bags.

...I’m not blaming Peters for having the worst goalie in the league as his backup. That’s on Tree. I don’t think Peters pulling Rittich was a particularly good read of the situation, but Peters has been an excellent coach this year. One mistake (in my eyes) is no big deal.
All I was originally trying to say is that it’s fair to expect that a starting goalie in this league be capable of maintaining (at the minimum) a .915 save %, and that while doing that they are facing difficult shots every night.

Well, if anything, if this slump continues it will at least aleviate any concern of meddling with team chemistry heading into the deadline. Frees up any second guessing by treliving.

If one of the 47 shots went in on Saturday in regulation, would you have thought the same? Or a third period post goes in vs SJ and the Flames get a point there or maybe two. Then the scary all star break doesnt look so bad.
A very fine line there between 2 wins vs 0, but at any sign of slight trouble, many start running around with heads cut off around here. If the Flames were playing great out of the break there would be people still pondering when a slump was coming or worrying about the Flames peaking too early.
Tampa made some mistakes early in the first game and they were playing from behind, probably not thier best game as its not the Flames best tonight.
Enjoy the ride.

This game isn’t on Rittich. He hasn’t been great but let’s be honest, they only have 14 shots. This is a complete and total failure by the entire team.

I know. It would have been better. Or the same. Or worse. I know with 100% certainty it would have been one of those three.

Right? Calgary plays a bad game, top to bottom, and it's time to talk about the one guy it's not on.

Pretty much. And hopefully this proves to Treliving this team is more than a piece away from being a true contender.
Until they address the most important position on the ice (I’m not saying Rittich can’t eventually be that guy) they’re not going to run with teams like Tampa.

There are more than a handful of players in Stockton working their asses off for another shot to play in Flames silks.
Lazar, Foo, Dube, Valimaki, Ollas-Mattson, Quine, send someone to the press box for a game or 2.
Who's waiver exempt? Who don't you care if someone puts a claim on?

Why call that at this point in the game? You can't let that slide?
