Jays have 5 "OK" starting pitchers, but no real "ACE" that can regularly get them deep into ball games.
You gotta think it's going to catch up to them at some point. With this staff, you're always thinking about yanking the starter around the 5th or 6th inning or they start to get lit up by the other team on the third time through the order.
It's a lot to ask from the bullpen.

This is the never-ending inning. Just get a double play and get out of this.

Long term, you gotta wonder where Shatkins are going to find top end starting pitching.
I'd hate to see Vlad/Bo/Alford etc go to waste when they get here, with a bum starting rotation, and Stroman/Sanchez look less and less like top end of the rotation guys with every passing year.

What the heck was Teoscar doing there? Gets right in Pillar's way. Man, gotta be smarter than that.

Too bad this one got away from them, especially with Severino on the bump tomorrow.
Good ole AL east. Jays have won every series they've played this year.....except the two they played against the Yankees.
Can't wait to face the Red Sox haha.

Stroman and Sanchez finished 6th and 7th in the last two years in Cy Young voting. They've both been very good when healthy.

Well yeah, but since Sanchez break out season he's missed basically an entire year due to blisters, and now I don't know what he's doing this year.
Stroman pitches a lot of innings, and when he's on he's decent, but he is wildly inconsistent. And this year he's been hot garbage so far.
Anyways, I'm just saying that a couple years ago it looked these guys might be a solid #1 and #2 for years to come, and although things can change in a hurry, they don't look like it anymore. They look like bottom of the rotation guys going forward, which isn't bad, just not what we'd hoped for. It's a lot easier to find #3/#4/#5 starters a than top end guys. Shatkins did a good job of it in Cleveland though, so hopefully they can do it here too.

I agree, Stroman has been pretty disappointing this year, but Sanchez seems to be coming around, I think he's only had 1 really bad game this year. He seems like he can still turn into that top guy.

Garcia needs to stay away from Stanton today.
He's 7/12 when facing Garcia with 3 homers.

Garcia looks really good for a while then gives up big hits that kill him. Frustrating.
