Referee Graedy Hamilton (41) and Chad Ingalls (39) found the overtime game "winning" goal scored by the Firebirds while offside and with too many men on the ice to be a good goal because it had been a long day and they just wanted to go home

Yes, that was a truly awful end to a very entertaining game. Is there no way to review such blatant missed calls in the AHL, especially for a game winning overtime goal?

It’s so inconsistent I find, there is no coaches challenge, but they have reviewed goals in the past…
I don’t think there is any protocol for blown calls that lead to a goal though.

The only reviews allowed is the refs can review whether the puck crossed the line, and its not a coaches challenge. Nothing else.

Jesus....
Just for once I'd like the morons who miss a call like that held accountable for all to see.

Too many men and a split second later also offside, with a final touch of a late whistle and what appeared to be a pushed in frozen puck.
Not sure if a set of refs could intentionally butcher a play sequence as bad as this again if they tried.

Not to mention the phantom penalty against the Wranglers that was pending the puck not being pushed into the net.

Wow these kinda losses sting....for a long time too. I don't mind losing but this is a lesson
Win the MFer in regulation and leave no doubt ...so win by 2 at least.
Wranglers PP is abysmal. Gotta score .
I wonder if Driedger getting hit a couple if times made the refs feel like they needed a make up call and this was it. I guess we'll never know

I was thinking about it a lot… I think they got tunnel vision watching the offside player get off the ice (which I think he did get off in time) they forgot how many players were in the play.
