I think Miromanov and Bahl are getting under rated.
It's understandable, but I think both players have the potential to improve a lot with an opportunity, which they are about to get.

Bean may have a bit of upside, too.
I'm seeing two top-four defencemen, plus three others who could pass for top-four in a dim light. It will be really interesting to see who, if anyone, rises to the challenge.

A healthy Jake Bean is a top-4 D-man all day long.

We'll see if that's what we're getting.

A number of the guys could emerge into being more than a #6/7 guy. That I'm sure is the whole point of getting a ton of similar players and saying here have at it, best one gets the ice time. All of these guys have been tweeners and ancillary depth with their former organizations. Never really given a chance to take a spot. If any of them become legit 2nd pairing defensemen or better, ala Forsling, then it's a huge boon and found money.
Tough to gauge until we're around the halfway mark to see if any of them step up. If so great, if not, also perfectly fine as that'll mean we are in top 5 pick land.

With day 1 of free agency in the rear view mirror, wonder if the focus is going to shift to some trades over the next handful of days.
Does Marner get moved? Leafs have 9 NHL D, that’s curious.
What’s going on in Detroit? 4NHL goalies?
Necas still in Carolina. Do the Canes change course and try to resign him now?
Buffalo also seems to have done very little to improve.
What about Patrick Liaine? Wonder if he gets moved.
I don’t see much more from the Flames other than the chance of taking on some bad contract, at a price. But that might not present itself until the deadline.
I figure we’ve got to about this weekend before things get pretty quiet. Still hope for some fireworks though.

Bahl had plenty of opportunity in NJ, although he is young and can certainly improve.
Miromanov is a real wild card, who knows what he can do. I wouldn't say he is underrated, just that he's largely unknown. He might be better than what we think. Or not. And he will get a real opportunity in Calgary.

Detroit may have 4 NHL goalies, but Husso was terrible, Campbell was terrible, Talbot is older, and Lyon is a journeyman who had an OK season. Both Husso and Lyon only have 1 year left so they may let them fight it out in camp and waive whoever sucks more.
And let's remember it's July 2. There's lots of times for teams to make moves and consider things and see who becomes available.

Offer sheeting one of Lundell, Pinto, or Holloway would be ideal. Any of those 3 forwards would pop here. The first 2 2nd round pick comp, Holloway a 3rd.

Threat of the offer sheet is the real tool. Use it as leverage in trade negotiations.
Offer sheets rarely work. And be prepared to have it done to you if you follow through with one. Bad idea when starting a rebuild

Offer sheets make for good online discussion fodder. That's their primary use.

Trade Coleman and Rasmus for hauls. Sign Roslovic.

Why would you want to artificially rush the build?
Offer sheeting those guys negatively impact the Flames own 2025 1st round pick, because the team would be better.
Why not just allow Zary, Pospisil, and Sharangovich to try being a centre at the NHL level for an extended period?
Patience.

Why Roslovic. He hasn’t done anything since he left Winnipeg. He probably doesn’t get picked up by anyone. He couldn’t even play in his home town of Columbus.

Miromonov looks like a PP2, 5/6 guy to me. I'd love to be wrong, but I don't see a Top 4 quality with him. Not enough high end defense, not enough offense.

He’s a decent bottom 6 guy. Could replace Coleman on Backs wing to create a cushy spot for a kid on the other.

Saying Roslovic hasn't done anything since Winnipeg is a bit of stretch. He had 123 points in 206 games which isn't terrible.

He totaled higher points in each of his first 3 seasons with CBJ than he ever did in Winnipeg.
It looks like staying healthy or in the lineup is what his issues are the past two seasons. He played 40 games two years ago then 19 last year. He's still a ~0.5 PPG player it appears netting 23 then 8.

He's only played one full NHL season and that was coming off an injury recovery summer that had him late to training.
I'm no Bahl expert, but there's nothing about his resume that says capped or he's had plenty of opportunity.
He's just getting started.
