Also, every time a goal is scored only one guy scored it. McDavid doesn't just pass. He shoots as well. Same with Draisaitl.

What team ever had all top six forwards scoring 30? The 80s Oilers only ever had 4 or 5. Back when goalies were small and had 50% less pads.

3 times there has been 6 30 goal scorers, all between 1975-85

First to do it was the Sabres, where the Famed French connection line, 2/3 of the 2nd line and 'the' Rick Dudley all hit 30

then the predynasty Islanders- with the Trottier line, Bourne and Nystrom and D man Potvin

then the surprising 85 jets- Hawerchuk, Steen, other Mullen etc

I'll add that possibly the closest to hitting the mystical 7 was the 74-75 Habs (same year that Buffalo was the first to have 6). Habs 'only' had 5 (Lafleur, Shutt, Lemaire, Pete Mahovlich, Lambert) but also had Cournoyer with 29 and Lapointe with 28

so 5 HOFers in that 7, on a 70s Habs team that was likely the deepest squad at least in my lifetime- as opposed to McDavid, Draisaitl 'and the rest'

What year was it the Oilers were going to have about ten 20 goal scorers again

I believe it was 2006/2007 - the year after they lost in the cup finals....

10 - 20 goal scorers and scoring 300 goals.

Superstars like Shawn Horcoff, Fernando Pisani, Stoll, Sykora, Torres, Lupul, Hemskey and Smitty.

They scored 192 goals.

Reaves gets 5 games for his hit on Nurse.

Hit was much too high, so I am fine with it. Thing is, he could have flattened him shoulder to shoulder and it still would have been devastating.

That's good. Was expecting 3, but it deserves 5

5 games is fair.

Oilers are no good, but Nurse is just a dude trying to make a living playing hockey. Don’t want to see him get a concussion or worse from a hit that looked pretty reckless.

Look no one deserves a concussion and the hit was suspendable no question.

But Nurse is a cheap shot artist tough guy himself, who likes to take shots and slashes after the whistle so im not gonna pretend like he’s just another player and isn’t Garbo himself most games

Not a fan of Nurse as a player, but he is my favourite player on the Oilers. He sucks and makes way too much. Meanwhile, the team is supposed to be in a window and sucking up cap space that they could really use somewhere else. He took them to the cleaners right as they were entering the prime contention window.

It’s not that hard to assess the position of the guy you are about to hit and let up

Reaves may get along with Scott Oake on HNIC but on the ice he is a piece of #### and the league doesn’t need what he brings

Edmonton still sucks
I’ve always believed in hitting to separate the player from the puck, not head from body, but size, speed and coaches expectations make that quite difficult.

However in the close to 50 years of watching the game, I have been guilty of enjoying a huge hit or fight many times. It’s primal.

In reality, it only takes a few games of watching your 17 year old son playing Jr, to re-think how you feel about huge hits and fighting.

Since my initial port, and seeing a reel from PK Subban, I watched it a few more times, on something bigger than my phone. Great take by PK, and I agree, Reeves needs to ‘do better’.

It's only a matter of time before the Oilers organization starts raising banners to honour the Referees who have made significant contributions to the team.

McDavid hooks Slavskovy all the way up the ice after giving the puck away to him. No call of course. Haha, 1-0 Habs !! #### you Oilers!!!

We’ve got a new banner!

This is about Podkolzin.

“He might be the best player in the NHL who hasn’t scored a goal yet,” Knoblauch said.

How long can we talk about how well Vasily Podkolzin is playing, when he still doesn’t have his first goal through 18 games this season. He has three assists, but playing with Leon Draisaitl for most of his minutes, at some point goals are a requirement.

“He might be the best player in the NHL who hasn’t scored a goal yet,” Knoblauch said. “He’s been doing so many things well: Getting in on the forecheck, creating turnovers. He’s physical, he’s part of our penalty kill. He just has not been able to find the net.

“We’ve had a lot of forwards in that situation — playing well, but not been able to score.”

Yes I saw that today too. According to oilers fans, media, and management - every oilers player is the best in the league in some way or another. It's been that way for many years. Most delusional franchise in the history of pro sports.
