I just want the Flames to go something like 8-2 or 2-8. Worst nightmare is a 6-4 record over the next 10 and BT trading a high pick or one of our best prospects to help a midling team. If we aren't at least in a divisional spot securely then I want to sell and gear up for next season.

Hindsight is bliss but picking up Burakovsky (like a lot of posters wanted) may not have been the worst idea.

Overshooting in the off season gave this team too much pressure and I don't think that they have been able to deal with it all too well.

Until they end up drafting Bedard and the Flames have to deal with 2 Connors in their division.

They are bad but not bad enough to pull that off. Instead it will likely be the Ducks, so same problem lol

I agree on the record part. More like the next 20 I want to see at least 14-6 and if not would prefer to see them go on a skid. Minor injries would be ok if they do go on a skid.

The trading a first part though I don't see as a concern. Has Treliving ever traded a first at the deadline? He hasn't bought often unless sitting in the playoffs at the deadline.

For all the hysterics and drama around that team this year they have a top 10 offense. They won't be that bad unless they start selling.

Last year. It wasn't precisely at the deadline, but it basically was a deadline deal.

I'm depressed with the state of this team. I wished there was some good to look forward to. We always overpay for guys coming off career years that are also on the wrong side of age. We always hang on to guys too long that their value decreases. The best feeling time as a Flames fan was 2015, we were young, lots of hope, Hartley promised an upbeat entertaining brand of hockey albeit poor metrics, it was exciting. Now it's old school slow, non energetic, and stale.

What a trade rumor! Thanks for bringing this hot lead to our attention.

Forgot about the one that happened last year lol

But he did trade it with a team in around top 5 record in the league.

I doubt we trade our first sitting in the wild card or worse.

Alright.

Puljujarvi is on the block. Would love to try and snag him somehow.
Kravtsov is on the block. Would love to try and snag him somehow.

Both are RW. Check.
Both are young. Check.
Both are big. Check.
Both are fast. Check.

Both are struggling and and need a change of scenery. Sutter is good for reclamation projects. He doesn't mind guys that are big and can skate, those are skillsets you don't need to teach. Playing two way and work ethic are things you can teach.

Don't we have enough forwards who can't score with regularity?

I suspect Edmonton would command a premium to trade within their division, and specifically with Calgary .
I was on board with Kravtsov but boy he just hasn't produced or played well.

Rumor the last little while is Puljujarvi to Anaheim. Verbeek attended 2 Oiler games this week and met up with Ken Holland last game.

Anaheim is one of the few teams that could take him on a pure cap dump. I wonder what the Oilers would have to throw in to entice them.

They also have 3 2nds in 2023 and 2 2nds in 2024.
So perhaps it's a 2nd for JP.
