The main reason I like Wennberg is tha he produced a good haul as a rental a this past trade deadline. He (retained) got a 2nd and a conditional 3rd/4th.

At what cost, though? Not only the acquisition cost but those players would directly impact the Flames own 2025/2026 1st round pick value.
Flames should keep drafting! They need their own top-5 picks.
The two guys I'd be into so long as it doesn't involve futures is Laine and Kakko.

It;s Day 1 of free agency. I wouldn't expect teams to trade RFAs 1 day in just because they haven't agreed to a deal yet.

I would move the Devils 1st in a package for Lundell or Pinto and would give up 2nd round compensation on a Broberg offer sheet.
Definitely interested in Laine and Kakko and would be okay with some mild futures for Kakko but not Laine.
If they are going 23 and under certain futures and prospects could be on the table in my books if the piece we get is a long term guy
