I remember listening to the oilers post game show after a BoA in 2007 or 2008. One caller called and suggested trading Shawn Horcoff, the host laughed in his face, wouldn't let the fella talk, and stated "Horcoff is our #1 center, you're an absolute idiot if you think he should be traded". The oilers went on to miss the playoffs for a decade straight. Horcoff never got near being a 1st liner again. Oilers media is cringe and I love it.

I enjoyed this honest assessment by Staples on the play by Nurse leading to the 2-on-0 goal by the Canucks yesterday:
"They (Edm) have just tied the game and he (Nurse) charges up there like he is a pee-wee idiot. That is the most idiotic play I've ever seen him make. For a veteran player, that is completely unacceptable. That is shameful and he should have been benched....That was, like, the worst decision I've seen in years in hockey."

At least he made sure to dangerously take out Pettersson's skate from behind... that could have ended badly had he hit his head.

I saw the 2-0 live and my first thought was “oh, weak side d must have blown a tire or something and Nurse was trying to cover for them.” Nope, dude just decided to be the middle net drive for some unknown reason. Completely baffling. I have two kids that are just starting hockey and if they decide to play defense my plan is just to have them watch videos of Nurse and say “do the exact opposite of what this guy does and you’re good to go.”

The best was watching 'Discount Seth MacFarlane' on the bench just cringing.
Him just on he Bench re-evaluating some of his life decisions and Nurse just standing in the crease...puck at his feet...probably with a mighty-pissed Jack Campbell in front of him...
It was an existential moment for a lot of people.
