Chychrun. He’s 23. Miller is 30.

Neither at that price.

Toffoli on this list is the only realistic player, basically because he’s already in Canada.

A lot of those Kings, Doughty maybe the most, didn’t like the button pushing that Sutter did. However, anyone winning one, let alone two Stanley Cups, owes any future additional earnings to the guy that got him there.

And after the massacre that the press is creating in Montreal, a readjustment of priorities on the types of situations that are uncomfortable, may have occurred in Toffoli’s mind.

Good possibility he’s the US born player pending UFA that doesn’t want to go to Canada that Friedman has discussed.

For this reason I could see Arizona being more hesitant to trade Chychrun in-division than Miller with Vancouver.

Depends. If that is the ask then the Flames can offer their 1st, Valimaki, and Tyler Pitlick and meet that demand. Not a big hit for either IMO. We really need another scoring forward more than we need a blueliner though, but given the choice between the two, I take Chychrun and hope you can work a deal for a forward with other assets.

And what’s he going to do - come back and beat them in a game? Tanking is the whole idea.

Who knows what division the Coyotes will be in next year!

JC is a top pairing defender trending upward with 3 full years term and less AAV.

I don't know what Miller is...statistically he's a #1C, but he probably ranks in the 15-25 range, but only 1 more year term.

I would also be a huge fan of Pavelski joining the team, and if they really wanna go all-in on rentals try and get Klingberg as well.

And as to whether or not Pavelski would want to come to Calgary, the company he's co-owner of "TorchPro" that he was even plugging on ESPN recently, one of his partners was born and raised in Calgary and grew up playing hockey here as a Flames fan. Doesn't mean Pavelski would agree to come here, but at least there would be one positive voice close to Pavelski endorsing Calgary.

Central division. There's 8 apiece in each division. They won't change a thing.

It's a joke about them relocating...of course odds are they'd stay in the CEN for a year even if they move to QC.

But the sensible alignment in that case would be CBJ to CEN and one of BUF/BOS/DET to MET.

Barzal
Larkin
Pettersson
Scheifele

Get one of these 4 guys, for whatever futures cost it takes.

Fix the cap in the summer.

Why would their current teams trade them for futures?
This ain’t fantasy hockey

None are available, especially for futures.

Larkin is the only one that makes some sense as he has 1 full year to UFA, and a full NTC kicks in this summer. Unless of course DET wants to re-sign him, but they are flush with 25-26 year olds and probably need to pivot the core a bit younger.

Valimaki would make sense.

I would trade a ton for Larkin. Throw in Backlund as a cap dump.
