Ever try booking any campgrounds? Or finding rec sites? The BC sites website is the worst ####ing thing I’ve ever used, campgrounds cater to big RVs while failing to have web service that wasn’t last updated by the soviets in 1996 and all around ‘vacation’ planning is way more frustration than the ‘vacation’ is relaxing.
While I enjoy most of the actual Camping experience yeah it’s the huge hassle getting the reservation, the prep, travel, setup, noisy crazy neighbors, take down, black water drain lineup, maintenance, empty and clean, then take back to storage. Not to mention gas costs and camp fees. At the end it’s less fuss and less expense to get a hotel. Unless you’re renting or on crown land. But still fun whilst out there. So yeah maybe I do miss it. Sometimes.

You know who can f off, RVs. They should park on the side of the road, not have huge spaces allocated for them sucking up prime real-estate.

Given I haven’t camped in a tent since my teens or early 20’s, and have zero interest to do so ever again, I’ll take option C and bike / hike to options A or B for the day. Once we’re done with that, back to the trailer to get clean and cook a steak on the grill, like Mother Nature intended.

I've been wondering if part of Sliver's mentality has been seeping into mine lately. I've been researching exoskeletons to make hikes easier.

Not quite the rascal situation, but feels a little like it.

You are missing about 10,000 tents in your picture. Go look at old Yosemite pictures or even just Lake Ohara or Mount Assiniboine pictures for what happens in the camp in the meadow wherever model.

That picturesque land scape would be a mud pit

Sweet! Imagine 20-30 environmentally friendly charging stations at each campground with Edge of Tomorrow style hiking suits

We're the second largest Sovereign nation on the face of the Earth with a laughably tiny population.

How is there no space?

Not really thinking of re-creating a Woodstock like situation, but something less terrible than it is now with the scarcity of spots and the no-shows.

My theory: they're preparing to finish the job. First it's moose on our roads. Bears in our tourist traps. What's next? Coyotes in our homes? Whales abducting our children?

My opinion? Might sound crazy. It's time to kill all the animals. Before it's too late.
Can confirm. A few nights ago my security camera got footage of Wile E. trying to break into my house.

There WAS a bobcat on my lawn when I drove up a couple of nights ago. Although he ran off so maybe he wasn't lying in wait.

So would you limit and still have reservations density and decrease infrastructure?

Have you ever been to the snake river over flow campground in Jasper. That sounds like what you are describing and the one time I was there it was a disaster on the august long weekend.

I am not sure. How do other places manage it and not have it abused to the degree you’re describing? Is it just the NA attitude that ruins these things?

Anyway, I haven’t seen the situation you mentioned play out, and maybe it was so bad because the individual campsites were full and everyone else only had the one overflow site to go to?

I just guess with more campgrounds opened up, and some limits based on the actual capacity of the camping area, it couldn’t get too insanely concentrated in one area.

There's plenty of camping space if you simply commit to driving further out of the city than the majority of people. 7 hour drive to the Okanagan and you can take your pick of lakes with lot of tent spots

Being good at problem solving, so people ask you to do impossible and difficult tasks that end up inexplicably easy to solve...

"DoubleF, please help me! I need you to translate French even though I know you don't really speak it!"

"WTF? I'm not a magician! Why don't you just use the camera on Google translate instead of asking me to translate French that you know I don't speak? I'm busy!"

"I don't know how to do that. Please take a quick look!"

*Takes one look at the document. Downloads an English copy of the Quebec RL-1 slip with explanations within 30 seconds.*

"OMG how did you know to do that?"

Last time it was "translating a Spanish instruction manual" and I just looked up the model number and downloaded an English version.

I didn't even know it was a tax slip when I was asked. I didn't even bother asking why they had a French tax slip afterwards.

But I agree. It's so low tier on the problem solving spectrum, I don't get why I keep getting asked over and over to solve things like this. Common sense and common knowledge ain't so common anymore I guess. I've even tried teaching these people how to Youtube it or search a solution, to no avail.

Why would they need to put any effort if they can just come to you for answers?

Camping is just homeless cosplay. I hate the reliance on the weather, having to tolerate inconsiderate neighbors, the suspension of basic hygiene, everything about it. Hotels for me from now on.
