Really?
We came at that with polar opposite expectations .
I thought she did pretty well, though I also thought that the speech was too long for her, she said "my father" way too much, and that women will probably hate her.

Ivanka's a Democrat haha. She was trolling the Cruz crowd with that one.

It's not inconceivable that Trump could go left of Hillary on some issues. It's pretty wide open.

Hahaha this is hilarious. He says "I'll tell the truth" and the pauses and smirks while that sinks in.
He is actually going by the script, so if he keeps it up it might actually be fine.

Sounds like a lot of gun violence. Wonder if there is a way to combat that?

I'm assuming this was written by whoever wrote Newt's speech because it's about to collapse under the weight of statistics and examples. Which makes it way better than his usual speeches, but way less likely to provoke excitement from the groundlings. Still, it's actually a strategically good decision I think. He sounds sort of not crazy?

Yet he choose a VP candidate who REJECTED funding assistance for preschools in Indiana. Ivanka preaching crap about the wage gap was just mirroring Hillary's agenda on child care.

He can't ad lib too much here. Too many people watching for any serious missteps, especially with how bad this convention has already been. It was always going to be an on script speech.

My initial thoughts are that this speech probably contains mostly truth, and was deliberately leaked to give the media a chance to fact-check and mark the shift in tone from Trump. At the same time, the speech limits his ad-libbing. They know he's going to do it anyway (and those wee bits are the parts the crowd will cheer) but this reins him in.
We're now seeing nominee Trump: a boor becoming a politician.
Edit: an increasingly red politician. Needs to loosen that tie.

Totally. He just used the phrase "the difference between our plan, and that of our opponents", followed by the word "credo". Does that sound like something he'd say? Just listen to this, this is clearly not Trump speaking.
"There can be no prosperity without law and order".
Paul Ryan could have written this speech.
EDIT: Hahaha, he just referred to Hillary as "my opponent" instead of "crooked Hillary". This is so transparent.
