You could also argue that Parekh has wrapped the junior game IMO
Will he learn more there playing with basically a cheat code or will he learn more by playing with pros?
I would like to see him at WJC though

Those being the options, and the Flames won't be contenders, send him back. Let him dominate, play in the WJC etc (which they'd be loaning him too anyway).

Laine is a great buy-low candidate, one of the best releases in the league. Obviously depends on acquisition price, but I think he would be a good bet to rehab his game with an org that has a recent history of supporting players’ mental health.
If conroy also snagged Johnson? That would be another great bet to expedite a rebuild to a 2-3 year timeframe rather than 5-6.

Months ago I joked about a Chandler Stephenson overpay. Would be wild to get him at a high AAV but reasonable term. Still see it as unlikely though

Conroy was never going to overpay this year or next year. Guy has a minimum 2 year tear it down to the studs plan for a rebuild. Now the 2026 UFA class maybe but even then I suspect he waits one more year. He also seems to truly believe that July 1st is not when you build a team, rather you build it through the drafts and trades.

He is correct. You can add some depth or fill some holes on July 1st but the big ticket signings are not how you build a team.
Nashville is going to find out.
