Parekh needs to go back to junior. Maybe give him 9 games but he needs to go back to put on weight and preserve one year of ELC.

I don't think Laine truly wants to be a hockey player.
Oh sure, he'll take the money, but he would rather not work for it.

I don't really care if the BJs want to pay enough to dump him. It's only a couple years.

If he proves he belongs with the team, keep him. If not send him back to Junior. Do not make development decisions for a key prospect based on managing his ELC, it should be based on what's best for the player.

Seems to be a sell low on Andersson?

I think losing his dad, his biggest supporter and fan, so young and unexpectedly really hurt Patrick and his zest for the game. I’m rooting for him regardless of where he ends up because prime time Liane was a fun player to watch. Gotta think him at his best would work quite well with Huby at his best too, especially on the PP.

Could be good with that attitude to go somewhere where winning isn't priority number 1 right now, and maybe Conroy and Iginlas unwaivering positively could always get him moving. Not out of the realm to pull a Montreal/Monahan here.

Rushing him would be terrible. Wouldn’t shock me to see him put up some nice numbers but with the need to work on his D game I absolutely send him back regardless and have him dominate on the WJ stage and he can debut next year.
Flames rushed Bennett after a strong initial showing and it would have been better to send him back. Flames are not in a rush they need to be patient.

Plus the Flames are rock stars in the rehab world of the NHL apparently. So that helps for recovery. And a change of scenery.

There are a lot of teams right up against the cap now. Lots of options for Conroy to help teams out.

I don’t think so, Marchenko is a goal scorer and is 23 yrs old. Johnson has been pushed out and could be a really good player only being 21 yrs old. Then add Laine who could find his form and be a trade chip next year with retention.

He needs to put on about 15 pounds before he can play in the NHL minimum. In the OHL games I watched he was small for that league. He is not Sam Dickinson.

As far as Parekh goes. Flames will do the right thing whatever that is. His play at camp and preseason will dictate what they do with him.
I'm not leaning one way or the other on how what's best for Parekh right now because we simply don't know enough.

Kuzmenko on the right side with Monny and Johnny would make quite the offensive combo.

No issue with taking on the Laine contract. It’s low risk.
We have the space, it’s only for 2 more years, he’s only 26.
That’s a very tradeable player at the deadline next year (with some retention). Acquisition cost should be low for us.
Let’s do it

I really hope not. Stay away please, Conroy.
