Heh, now watching it, I realize that I had in my memories combined 'The Last Starfighter' with 'Battle Beyond the Stars' (1980).
I have to check the other one next.

Would probably have made a better last 3rd if they just shot Jones in the head and then have Helena Shaw finish off the action.
Jones wasn't needed in the rest of the movie anyway.
It was refreshing in the Kingsman when the Colin Firth character survived the church battle just to be shot in the face by the bad guy. Then you at least might really get invested in the movie knowing anything is on the table.

I was thinking, "John Wick does it right--he never leaves anybody alive!" And then the part about the villain catching the hero and not finishing him off himself there came up and I was like "Damn, that awesome movie also plays with this stupid trope."
All of the John Wick movies are still awesome though.

I've said it before, as far as action movies are concerned, the original John Wick film is essentially perfect.

The Accountant was a pre-john wick movie and was not bad. Too bad it's main setting was a farm, a storage unit, an 800sq ft bungalow and a 4 story apt building.

We enjoyed 'The Burial' on Prime Video. A solid 8/10 - pretty easy and entertaining viewing with a few serious undertones... Jamie Foxx was awesome! https://www.imdb.com/title/tt5648882/?ref_=ttrt_ov

I kind of enjoyed the accountant but it was just a dreadfully ill-informed film about autism.

So I have to recommend picking up the new 4K release of Titanic. It's probably top 10 best 4K disks ever, the picture is so clean, James Cameron did a fantastic job overseeing this transfer. It was honestly like watching it again for the first time, I was completely blown away. Plus the movie is perfection, one of the top 100 movies ever made. I've been going back re-watching some of the most epic movies ever, and Titanic absolutely deserves to stand shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Lawrence of Arabia, 10 Commandments, Doctor Zhivago and the rest of the epics. I'm not saying it's better than those movies, but it's at least in the conversation.

hmmmm I might have to watch it again.
I don't really like the movie and only watched it once at the Bankers Halls theaters.
There was a couple in front of us she was translating the movie, in real time to her friend. I don't know what language it was but they looked to be from the Asian sub continent.
Then there was a chick behind that had a hard on for hating the female lead.
In fact I one point she stood up and yelled "You kunt" at the screen.
Maybe I didn't give it a fair shake.

I watched a portion of it in a dorm room on a VHS being played on an old 30 inch tube TV. That was likely enough for me.

May December is dark but really well done. Watching Julianne Moore’s character manipulate her former student, now husband, is creepy. And the way he interacts with their kids is sad because they’re actually more mature than him thanks to her abuse.
The moral is don’t #### kids.

Recently saw two action movies that I really enjoyed. Sisu and 65. Each movie is about 90 minutes. All killer, no filler. Just fun movies. I wasn't bored at one point for either of them.

Damn, Leo was great. Charming and funny. Bill Burr and Adam Sandler do a great job, and even though it's technically a musical the songs are fairly short and clever.
Available on Netflix.

+1 for Leo.
My daughter randomly asked for it over the weekend. I had it on in the background but I was drawn in. Pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it.

Finally crossed one off that's been on my watch list for ever; Crash with Don Cheadle, Thandiwe Newton, Brendan Fraser, etc. Did not disappoint.

Re-watched GoldenEye and it might be the perfect action movie. I maybe biased (slightly) but it's my favorite Bond film.and it's a pretty good video game also
