Another little tidbit from that article regarding Mr. Mchale...

"We've not started talking to Joel yet but I definitely want to if Community doesn't go forward and even if it does," he said. "For the future, I think he's great. But we don't have any official plan yet. I could see him in anything, I think he can do what ever he wants."
I just wanted to say that this show is amazing. I only started watching on Netflix a while ago. I'm 1/3 into Season 2. I haven't had to go through what you guys go through with all this season 4 stuff, and I hope it works out for everyone's sake, but even if they don't make another episode, this show will go down in history as a TV show.

They didn't have the budget for outdoor sets in (I think) season 2 and there was only one outdoor shot in season 3 (heist episode)
Yeah, during season one they shot a lot outside and on location at one of the Colleges in LA. In season two, their budget was cut back, so their outdoor shots were limited to the Paramount backlot. By season three, they shot pretty much everything inside (even the Carnival where Britta's ex worked was built on the cafeteria set).
They talk about this on the DVD commentaries.
