With the 189th pick of the 7th round, "Wrapped In Plastic" selects the 1976 Golden Palm winner at Cannes in the Best Picture category: Taxi Driver (1976) http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0075314/
Critical response:
Taxi Driver was a financial success and was nominated for four Academy Awards, including Best Picture (but lost to Rocky) and received the Palme d'Or, at the Cannes Film Festival.[11] In later years, the film was ranked #52 on the American Film Institute's list of "100 Years, 100 Movies,"[12] and #22 on its "100 Years, 100 Thrills."[13] Bickle was also named as #30 on its' "villains" list.[14] It has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry.[15] The film earned $28,262,574 in the United States.[16]
The film was chosen by Time Magazine as one of the 100 best films of all time.[17]
Taxi Driver was reportedly part of a delusional fantasy on the part of John Hinckley, Jr.[20][21] which triggered his attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan in 1981, an act for which he was found not guilty by reason of insanity.[22][23] His stated reason was that the act was an attempt to impress Jodie Foster by mimicking Travis' mohawked appearance at the Palantine rally. The movie was so influential that his attorney concluded his defense by playing the movie.

This intense character study remains one of the most unforgettable movies I have ever seen. Although it lost out to the popular, feel-good choice of "Rocky" for the Best Picture Oscar that year, it has arguably become the more well-respected movie with time.

Incredible retro-futuristic visuals. Outstanding screenplay by Gilliam & famed playwright Tom Stoppard. I'm thrilled that one of my top 5 movies is still available at this time.
With the 189th pick of the 7th round, "Wrapped In Plastic" selects the 1976 Golden Palm winner at Cannes in the Best Picture category: Taxi Driver (1976)
&$%#!!!
Two picks before it was my turn again!
Great choice, Cybill Shepherd is one of my favorite actresses, TOP 3 easily. Thumbs up!
With the 192nd Overall pick The All Or Nuttin team is proud to select in the "Fantasy" category a film highly acclaimed by critics and fans alike, JRR Tolkien and Peter Jackson's epic, The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.
With the 193rd overall pick Team Theatre Head decides it should probably take this movie before anyone else does. In the Fantasy category we select The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers
Of the three films, this one is my favorite. The Battle At Helm's Deep sequence is epic in scope and truly awesome entertainment.
Q F T - had to be the best of the 3 films in my opinion.....the action was intense, the cinematography amazing & honestly who can ever forget the Dwarf tossing?

Reason: oddly filtered out the Q.F.T *shrugs*
Team Lucky the Donkey is happy to pick, in the category of Thriller: Marathon Man
Like the youtube comments section says; dentists suck, Nazi dentists really suck. Awesome thriller, my fav Hoffman movie by a longshot. Not going to go on and on about it, as I don't really read much of anyone else's comments about movies, so why should I expect you to read mine? Like most all movies on this list, superb acting, classic quotes, and memorable scenes.
"Barely even friends. Then somebody bends, unexpectedly."
In the early rounds I was trying to fill the categories that I thought would be harder to fill later in the draft. Now, I'm coming to the hard part: trying to narrow down my choices in the categories I have left.
For my next pick, Team Hot Buttery Topping is proud to select the only animated film to ever be nominated for the Best Picture Oscar, and the only animated film to ever win the Golden Globe for Best Picture (Musical or Comedy)...In the Animation category, the Walt Disney Company's 30th full-length animated feature, 1991's Beauty and the Beast.
An Academy Award winning soundtrack and stunning animation make Beauty and the Beast a pleasure to watch for children and adults alike. Although primarily a traditionally "hand-drawn" animated feature, Beauty and Beast's amazing ballroom dance scene would simply not have been possible without the use of the burgeoning computer animation technology of the day.
Beauty and the Beast is not just a great animated film, it's a great film of any genre, which is why it received the recognition of the Academy. With The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin and The Lion King, the Disney company breathed new life into the art of the animated film in the early 90s, creating many instant-classics along the way.
In 1994, a stage adaptation of the film took Broadway by storm, and launched a brand-new way for Disney to dip into your pockets.
Here's the original trailer...
Be Our Guest...
Tale as old as time. Song as old as rhyme. Beauty and the Beast.

In the comedy category, TEAM Wishwedidaporndraft is happy to select the funniest movie of the last 10 years.
BORAT: Cultural Learnings of American for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan
Sasha Baron Cohen is a comedy genius, the guy is so bloody talented and one of his most popular characters made the seemless jump to the big screen in this 2006 mockumentary. After making an amazing 26.4 million on a miniscule 837 theatres, people took notice and pretty soon, everyone and their dog was saying, "NICE" "I LIKE, HOW MUCH??"
Here's some bits from Borat:
I like many of you have been going to movies since I can remember. I have never been in a theatre that was as off the wall as it was during the hotel scene. I couldn't believe it. People were literally crying in their seats. As disturbing as that scene is, it will go down as one of the funniest gross out scenes in history.
sorry for the delay, but here's team snoogans 8th round pick, in the fantasy category, a Terry Gilliam classic based on a book by Hunter S. Thompson
Fear & Loathing in Las Vegas. (I did a quick search, very quick mind you and I'm pretty sure this one hasn't been picked yet, if it happens to be a fata let me know)
