Is Sirius the same as Sirius XM?

For that Cardstar app that's already been mentioned - you need to play with the "Symbology" advanced option until the barcode matches your card. This appears to solve some of the reasons why it's not working for some. Interesting that U of C library is already in there too.

Anyone play around with Layar? Seems like its a bit of a work in progress, but it's pretty cool. It's essentially a virtual map/search tool projected over top of what your camera sees. I think it only works for 3Gs because it requires the compass.

For the cooks amongst us, there is also Epicurious which is a great free recipe book and shopping list tool.

I was a bit concerned, given that you have to enter your rogers website account info... but I've checked them out, and they've been around for years and have lots of legit media/tech site coverage.
Not sure if this has been posted yet, but it appears that Rogers and Fido have just released their own "My Account" usage trackers. The nice thing about them is that you don't have to sign up for online billing, or enter any account info to a third party. I just gave it a spin, and it seems to work pretty well.

The not-so-nice thing is that it you have to disable wifi in order to use it.

True, but only if you are currently connected via Wi-Fi. If you need to check when connected to a Wi-Fi connection, I agree, it is a bit of a hassle, but not the end of the world.

I still greatly prefer the mobile minutes app. Works on wifi, the UI is cleaner and they'll send push notifications or email when you reach a limit.

Not only that, but when you really think about it... the only time I'm likely to be wondering about my minutes is when I'm at home. So it would be a real pain in the ass to have to go into settings and disable my wifi every time I want to run it.

It's a good start, but like anything else Rogers does, it'll take a few attempts before they finally get it right (or at the very least, usable).

Edit: I should say thanks for mentioning it, though, babs. I'll be keeping an eye on it to see if they update it at all in the future.

On second thought, the app kinda sucks. It was working great when I first mentioned it in this thread, but since then it won't work. I keeps telling me to try later. When reading the reviews in the app store, it sounds like everyone is having the same problem. I should have known Rogers would find a way to screw it up.

The worst thing about that app though; no Stern channels. Its still pretty cool I guess, but kind of lame that the best channels aren't available to subscribers in this way!

So it's black friday! Anybody have any good sales to mention? Some I've noticed:

Navigon GPS - $69.99
Rock Band - $7

I picked up rock band and have been pleasantly surprised.

Yes, I picked up Tetris and Need for Speed Undercover for $2.99 each. Tiger Woods is also $2.99.

Sweet. I'm downloading tiger now.
I've been thinking about getting it for a while, but at this price I finally decided to jump.

I just downloaded the CBC HNIC app as well.
I've been using Sportacular in the past.
I haven't had the opportunity to play with HNIC too much yet. What are the benefits of the two? So far I think I'll be deleting HNIC as quickly as I downloaded it.

Wireless number pad for PC/Mac!

This is ridiculous. I was just looking at buying a $60 cordless number pad thing to carry around with me, and then I saw this thing on the front page of the App Store for $2.99. There's some kind of funky Sibelius thing in it too for writing music... I think.

Anyway, it's pretty awesome. It works through your Mac's Screen Sharing. For PC users, I think you have to run a small VNC server, but they're free and pretty friendly to set up.

The HNIC application seems to run much better now since their update. However, I still like Sportstacular because it pushes scores onto my phone. That's always a bonus. But I do like the stats provided by HNIC. I've decided to keep them both for the time being.

What is the best flight simulator app out there? I know a few people really liked one in particular but I can't seem to find it in this thread anymore. Thanks.
