That's odd ... the buttons are supposed to be disabled when you bring the phone you your ear. Does it go from landscape to portrait properly when using other things like the safari browser?

Yup, from what I can tell. On about five or six occasions, I've put the call on mute with my cheek...and I didn't even notice. The person on the other end is saying "hello?" and I'm saying "hello?".

That's strange... with my phone, all the buttons disappear for me when i bring it up to my cheek.

Yessiree. I don't think there's been an outpouring for the Bold really, so it's likely the promo is up once the month ends. Wish they had a 3GB for $15. That would be sweet.

It is definitely odd. I must hit the keys before they are de-activated and thus, keeping them active rather than the phone locking.

Well, it appears that it is my silicone case...does this phone have some sort of sensor? I really don't want to take it out of the case though. When out of the case, the keypad shuts off when it goes to my ear.

If you hold it up to light you can see three little circles on the top left right beside the speaker. Pretty sure some combination of those is your proximity sensor.

another question for everyone...

where can I get good mp3 ringtones? I have a converter, it's just that everytime I search mp3 ringtones I get a whole whack of spam on google. I want normal phone rings if I can find some?

Any good sites you use?

In addition, does anyone know how to set a downloaded tone as the tone for incoming text messages? I can use them as ringtone no problem..

just use that iringer.net amd make your own ringtones

I do but I want some standard ones too, like normal ringers!

FYI - They extended this deal through September.

On October 1st they will be starting their new rates:
500MB for $25/month
1GB for $30/month

Can't be changed unless you jailbreak the phone.

Yeah, I heard that elsewhere, so I have a little more time to decide if I should go for it. My latest phone bill was double what my plan is, so I have to do something. Obviously adding data won't help the minutes problem, but if I'm getting a new plan, and a new phone, why not just throw more money out the window and get an iPhone?

Does anyone know how to clear the list of "automatic and approved by the user" WiFi sites?

I accidentally clicked "yes" on a Bell Hotspot (which of course costs money that I am not interested in paying), and now I can't do data at Starbucks without manually turning off WiFi.

I just download the latest software update and it seems to have improved that lag in text messaging.

One thing I can't seem to figure out is sending multimedia messages. Last night, I took a photo with my iPhone and wanted to send it in a text message to someone. I tried to look for the option, but all I could find is "email photo". Is there a way of doing it? I'm sure there has to be.
