How are we using Monahan as a trade chip in practically every Eichel proposal

That was a time when a defenseman makes a play that screws the forwards on the ice. Hanifin put his forwards into no man's land.

Monahan could have driven deep and established some zone presence, but he chose to stop at the top of the circle in no man’s land.

I don't blame Markstrom for the loss but he was definitely outplayed by Gibson. and why didn't they save Gibson for the Oilers!!

Yeah Hanifin skated directly into Monahan and two Ducks.

Monahan is flat footed and not really a lot he could do

I think Monahan should have backtracked and looked for a line change there. Everyone had been on a while. But yeah, that was mostly on Hanifin getting stripped with Monahan moving the forward.

Because Monahan stopped when he had no reason to stop.

It’s 3v3. By definition, there’s open ice everywhere.

Skate to it.

Trade everything that isn't nailed to the floor. Coleman and Mangiapane can stay.

You are right. Monahan’s lack of desperation when he was all that was standing before a 2 on 1 left me with a sour taste though.

No kidding, the idea of 3 on 3 is to stay apart and keep possession. Not take up the same square meter of ice.

Monahan made a very novice-esque level pinch on the puck and got walked

Not sure Noah was expecting Sean to pass it to him so close by with Johnny in a ton of space about to come into the zone.

Nice glide on the backtrack by Monahan. What a boat anchor! On the flip side did Drysdsle ever leave the ice in ot? Good looking young player.
