Fwiw there are many reports that Sillinger has improved the skating noticeably this year. I think hes one of the guys who has suffered most from lack of consistent play and scouting this season.

https://smahtscouting.com/2021/02/04...ole-sillinger/

This player has been better at every level than guys like mctavish and Guenther until this year when he wasn't playing against them in tournaments or leagues.

So it's

12.
44.
76.
85.
140.
172.
204.

Correct?

This year is such a crapshoot in terms of scouting/developmental barriers.

I can see Treliving moving one of the third rounders at the very least for extra picks with his patented wheeling and dealing. I hope he doesn't give up to Seattle any to take a certain unprotected player in the expansion draft. Let the chips fall where they may and keep the chips!

The brothers are often very aligned in drafts for better or for worse...Craig was all over how great the Janko pick was a few years ago.

There’s been many players who have had their skating criticized in their draft year-Scheifele, Toffoli, Gallagher, Benn-and they turned out to be top-notch NHLers. Silinger has that kind of talent. He may be the most talented forward in this draft. Does he have skating issues? If you watch his highlights, you’ll see that he does. I don’t think it’s that bad though.

To me, the top 3 are going to be interchangeable with Power/Beniers/Eklund. I think those 3 are the first three drafted in whatever order.

The next 4 should be Edvinsson, Guenther, Clarke, and Hughes.

Then comes our list that I think fall within our pick, these players are:

Johnson
Wallstedt
Sillinger
Lucius
MacTavish
Lambos
Lysell
Pinelli
Svechkov
Chibrikov
Raty

My top 15 mock draft:

#) TEAM - primary pick (secondary choice)

1) BUF - Beniers (Power)
2) SEA - Power (Eklund)
3) ANA - Eklund (Beniers)
4) NJD - Hughes (Edvinsson)
5) CBJ - Clarke (McTavish)
6) DET - Edvinsson (Hughes)
7) SJS - Guenther (Johnson)
8) LAK - Coronato (Guenther)
9) VAN - Johnson (Lysell)
10) OTT - McTavish (Sillinger)
**AZ forfeits pick
11) CHI - Wallstedt (Coronato)
12) CGY - Lucius (Lysell)
13) PHI - Lysell (Sillinger)
14) DAL - Sillinger (Wallstedt)
15) NYR - Pinelli (Lucius)

Of course this is my list and I can be completely wrong with all of my assessment. Flames should be getting a good player regardless at 12.

Central scouting has MM and KJ ranked after Power for NA skaters. Fascinating.

It seems to me like Beniers has been moving all around in this draft. I think the actual best players might all be D and he’s just getting the benefit of being probably the top forward.

I'm not sure that's how baby Tkachuks were made, if that's where you're going.

In terms of predicting what will happen, I think you're about as close as one can get. You obviously have Coronato quite high, but I think he might actually deserve to be there.

Open question to all: what concerns you more, Lucius's injury problems or Sillinger's skating?
