There was one legitimate bad call and that was the fumble recovery. I am not sure it was so much a bad call as it is a really bad rule. Down by contact has been brutal since the day it was first called. Get rid of it and put the whistles away until the play ends. If the play is going to be reviewed anyways just let it play out. This happens a few times every week.
As far as the pass interference calls go both were deserved and I counted two more that could have been called. And you can't base bad officiating on holding calls as they are mostly BS anyways. Thye miss calls and make them up all the time on holding and in general is really bad in every game.
The Jaguars went soft and Brady took advantage. Step on Brady's throat when you have a chance or he will come back at you. The Jag's play calling was way to conservative and Belichick picked them apart.
I am glad that the Patriots made it. If the Eagles are going to win I want them to topple the Kings. Belichick is the best damn coach in football and it is not even close. Pederson has his work cut out for him to figure out a way to make Foles look good knowing Belichick and Patricia are already scheming on how to take those plays away. This game will be about adjustments and execution. Something the Jags failed miserably at.

God damn I wish I had an extra $6k to go to this game.
Me too. I have no dog in this race but what I think will quietly be the highlight of the Superbowl week are the Eagle fans taking over Minnesota right after KOing them with their back up. The only way it would be any better would be if Bradford was behind center for that massacre.
Yeah I fully expect Philly fans to humiliate themselves with tons of arrests and fights with Vikings fans. I expect it's a quasi home game for the Patriots with Minnesota fans backing them.

I'm just happy it's the first time in 3 years I don't have a hated division rival in the SB, I'm actually good with this matchup. Go Eagles!
Was behind all day so stayed away from this thread, you just knew the Jags were going to find a way to lose that game. And I still can't get over that NFCCG thrashing, you'd have to think Brees & the Saints would've put forward a much better effort against Philly than what Minny did. What the heck happened??
Philly watched the second half of last week's game and realized if you pressure Case Keenum, he's a bang average QB. The Vikings defensive meltdown is inexplicable though. I would imagine they weren't expecting Nick Foles to play one of the great performances in championship game history, and simply took the Eagles lightly.

Booked my flight to Minneapolis and an Airbnb. If any of you dudes have connections for tickets so I don't have to go the reseller route, it would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pulling for Philly in the final. I have to. My wife is originally from Philly and if I pull for any other team I risk getting my throat slit while I sleep.

I went last year and got my ticket off StubHub, which includes a gameday tailgate party which is awesome. The best point of reference for me was on TickPick (https://blog.tickpick.com/how-to-buy...-bowl-tickets/), they have graphs of price fluctuations leading up to the Superbowl which is very helpful. For your reference the lowest price to get in the game last year that I saw was $1,800 US, before Stubhub fees, tickets didn't last long at that price.

The Revolution, Sheila E., and Morris Day and the Time will headline a special Prince tribute on Jan. 29.
The rest of the acts announced include rockers (Soul Asylum, the Suburbs, the Jayhawks, Bob Mould) and R&B and gospel performers (Sounds of Blackness, the Steeles, Mint Condition, Stokley Williams). Also on the bill: Rapper Dessa, singer/songwriter Cobi, former Minnesota Viking and “The Voice” contestant Esera Tuaolo, Twin Cities choir VocalEssence, ’80s pop band the Jets and Broadway star and actress Idina Menzel, the only performer with no obvious ties to the state.
I love some of these ticket scammers I've been dealing with. In response to me asking if the dude accepts Paypal:
"I'm Chicago right now on business and won't be back until after the game and I definitely don't want them to go to waste. You can send me a simple moneygram and I'll overnight them to you."
Sent from a number with a Chicago area code. Sure, buddy.
Speaking of Super Bowl parties (I mean your average one at someone's house, not ticketed events), God I hate generic Super Bowl parties. You know, the average ones for people who don't actually care about the game and just use it as an excuse to have a shaker, where they just talk through everything and only care about the commercials.
Already been invited to a couple of those here in recent weeks, by my sis, and then a buddy who is a casual NFL fan and wanted to use it as an excuse for me to get to know his new gf. No, you're not ruining the Super Bowl for me by turning it into a social occasion filled with people who see the game as a "background" thing. Don't invite true football fans to that stuff, they hate it.

for me it's not so much that I care about the american commercials, it's more about the hatred I have of years of watching the same 4 Canadian commercials subbed in.

and how badly they miss when they sub the commercials in, theyve gotten a bit better lately, but they used to miss actual plays to jam another 10 second new show promo in.

A couple years ago CTV was pushing that show Motive during the Superbowl. Me and my buddies made a drinking game out of it. Needless to say, we don't remember the second half.
